  1. well after i have put coils on my car , those wheels don't fit anymore due to offset LOL . so currently on steelies , looking to get some 2nd hand good looking ones soon. though i still have not found out why those other wheels have cause me steering wheel vibrations.

  2. Not meant to have two different sets of wheels on. Your car is not set up for that combination. Go back to the original rim. Sorry that is all i could advise to you.

so what wheel combination is good for my car ? i really like wide profile tires though .

  3. Hi guys ,

i'm posting this for my friend as he has a gen4 camry (2000) and he just bought and installed DGR coilovers , but he couldn't get the fronts to drop any further and he is currently sitting at 2 fingers wheel gap in the front (for some weird reason, which i have no idea what it is) , and front left is higher then front right even though its both are set at the same height measurment and his ride is not as comfy cos its bouncy even on a smooth paved road.

    what can be done here?

    cheers.

I had to buy shorter springs, they came with 200mm springs and I purchased 150mm springs from memory in order to get the desired height.

As for the height difference, there has either been damage to the strut tops or they are fitted incorrectly/old components incorrectly removed.

Thanks Trent. so the bumpy ride is due to un even height right?

  5. i do have the will , biggest thing stopping me is knowledge because i just got into cars!!! second is finances as i am a uni student ,casual worker. but the biggest thing is knowledge , i dont know where to buy the items or know what items will fit or not. but i am still googling/asking on here.

  6. Umm sell your i4 and buy a v6. There is no point swapping. It is cheaper, less hassle with wiring and you will need to change everything!

    cheapest option by far !

umm the TRD engine made for the gen4 or i guess any camry TRD engine that can fit into the gen4 .

does OZ even deal TRD vehicles?

TRD did supercharger kits for the 1MZ, but no complete engines or cars. There was a supercharged 5th gen Camry called the TS01, but that was a concept/show model as a demonstration of Toyota Australia's intention to liven up the range prior to the introduction of TRD.

TRD have since stopped selling cars in Australia, and have returned to their original sales model of purely providing aftermarket parts.

i didnt know they do after market only, but its so hard to find TRD made stuff in the after market. i saw a TRD AURION drive by today , so i am guessing its driver bought and put in the TRD parts himself ?

  7. If your going to do the V6 conversion I would lean toward the Lexus version of the 1mzfe... With the vvti, Slightly more powerful and most likely better on juice

Still not a cheap upgrade and not really worth it dollar for dollar.

yeah , nothing is really cheap. but i guess the v6 conversion is the best way for power i guess.

edit* : unless i can get my hands on a TRD camry engine !!! that'll be worth my bucks haha. i'm dreaming.

  8. i have a lowest range toyota camry sxv20 2000 , at the back it has "CSi" , whats that stand for ? by the way , whats the lowest range camry called ? is it LE?

  9. There's a place in Melb apparently who does custom rails. Ive yet to find this contact.

i really hope you do find this contact !!!! i really want to buy BUCKETS for my camry!!!

You can use Gen 5 Camry Sportivo seats, extra bolstering and still comfortable. From memory the seat base and back bolt directly to the Gen 4 rails.

i thought they arnt as buckety though...?

  10. Well in your list you never mentioned firmer shocks. So I would say start with a decent spring / shock combo and replace some of the worn bushes. Then if required upgrade the rear swaybar.........After you have done this you may begin to discover that the seat isnt supportive enough to match the improved cornering ability

yeah your right , but i cant find buockets for the gen4 , i dont think any aftermarket makes buckets for the gen4 =(
