HI I have a Uniden UHO89NB that works fine may be a better question is antena you need some thing decent some are of poor quality and limited range ask what gain you need the max or if it is just for the car you are following you may not the radio has a limited distantance so the better the antenna the more range you have I live and travel all over Broken hill Menidee Tibooburra way and use mine out there

Have you done a search on ebay there are some mirrors on there cheaper
