They are the same and it can be done. You need to flip the latches 180 degrees and then the SR5 tail gate will go on. ( I should clarify that the early models which I think is 05-08, need to buy the latches from a later model as they have a different catch, but it still can be done. Go check out the Hilux.net forum where you can see it done. Mark
