  1. Looks like I'm not the only one disappointed with their corolla. Mine is a 2013 Ascent Sport and is the worst car I have ever owned. Mine had to have the CVT replaced after 2 months due to excessive vibration (which I was twice told was normal by my dealership). After getting Toyota head office involved they finally admitted something was wrong. The dash board rattles, the door panels are loose, the CVT drops the revs way too low which causes the motor to labour at 60km/hr which in turn causes a vibration through the steering wheel, when driving on a smooth free way the car feels like it's going over a corrugated road. I've had tyres changed, balanced, aligned, everything. To make it worse, I drove another corolla from the dealership and that had the same feeling (although not as bad as mine). Toyota have confirmed it is a "characteristic" of corollas. It is truly a terrible car. Cheap and nasty rubbish. Not that it affects Toyota at all, but NEVER will I buy another Toyota. I'm always sceptical when I read people bagging products on forums, but if you don't believe me, I will happily show you my receipts that show Toyota replaced the CVT on a new car (although it was done under warranty for free) and the other receipt showing they have tried to fix the many rattles in the dash. My only choice is to sell and lose a heap of cash or keep it and be angry every time i drive it.
  2. Hi Everyone I have a 2013 corolla ascent sport with cvt that has a slight vibration when doing a constant speed but is most noticeable at 50km/hr. I've taken it to my dealer twice. The first time they said it was normal. The second time they said they did a software upgrade. I have a feeling they just took it out the highway and gave it a flogging (I noticed the average fuel consumption had jumped up a lot when I got in it after they drove it.) Either way, it still vibrates I'd be interested if anyone knows: 1: Is there really a software upgrade for the cvt's? 2: Is a slight vibration normal at a constant speed on a smooth road. ( It's most noticeable at 50km/hr) if it's normal, I don't mind. I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong P.S I've had my wheel balance checked and they are fine Thanks
  3. Thanks. I've saved the phone into the cars memory and ticked the don't ask again box on my phone. I've even done a factory reset on my phone and started the process again. Looks like it must be an issue with the software on my phone. Hopefully it gets an update and that fixes it. Its not the cars unit because when the sales guy showed me, he paired his iphone and it worked automatically.
  4. Hi everyone. Hoping to get some help on this one. I recently bought a 2013 Corolla Ascent Sport with the optional sat nav system. I'm having problems with my motorolla android phone pairing with the system via blue tooth. Connection is not a problem, but every time I get in the car the phone beeps and a "pair request" appears on my phone. If I push ok, it works perfectly, if I dont push ok, it wont connect. When the sales guy was showing me the system he said that android phones have a problem connecting to the cars radio. Has anyone found a way to make the android phones pair automatically with the car? Would be great if it connected automatically like i know the iphones do. Thanks
