  1. Actually you should be ok after doing some math it will still sit in the guard but your going to have lots of wheel gap from your tyre to the guard

Yeah I ran some numbers as well, as long i stick to 17x7 with 42 offset I would be fine. Wheel gap can be fixed with bigger side wall lol

  2. lol in total from stock hight 3 - 3 and a half inches from my current ride hight about another inch

    lol thats low.

How much did your front stick out when you got them? I'm not sure on the width and offset to go for. Either 17 x 7 with 42 or 17 x 8 with 33

  3. Yeah its really to hard to find mods considering how new the car is, most parts are in japan which are expensive.

What offset are you running on yours? also are they 18"?

Im considering getting SSR GTV02 or GTV03 just not sure what size.

Hmmm 2 and a half might not scrape.

  4. Congrats on the car and welcome. I haven't done anything to my corolla, just can't decide.

usually rims would be others first choice,

how about, a rear sway bar ? or window tints maybe ?

Rims are my first choice, just saving enough money. Apprentice wages is killing me.

Next will be dark tint all round, strut tower brace, maybe lower it (just not sure if it will scrape when I enter and exit my drive way - pretty steep)

  5. Hey Johno,

I got a 2013 SR 4x4 Double Cab Hilux Turbo Diesel Auto.

I know for the 2014 models, they have add extra safety features to make it get a 5 star ancap rating. (read link below)

    http://www.caradvice.com.au/267737/2014-toyota-hilux-new-auto-safety-upgrades-price-rises-for-double-cab-ute/

Now if your getting a used Hilux between 2004 and end of 2009, make sure to check it has done its saftey recall notice for a cable which controls the drivers side air bag (can cause it will not deploy in an accident)

I'll just list what I find annoying about the Hilux,

    - Extremely large, whenever I go to the shops I have to make sure the spots are big enough to fit it. If not I park far away and take two spots :P.

    - My car is too tall cause I got strobe lights (that's my companies fault, gotta have it for safety reasons) Total height of my Hilux is 2.183m.

    - Back seat is the most uncomfortable to sit in when driving long distance. (drove to South Australia and back wasn't fun at the back with 3 grown adults)

I hope it helps, just ask a question and ill get back to you.

    regards,

    Daniel

  6. Nice pictures, shame I couldn't make it. Was busy cleaning the Hilux which I drove to South Australia and back, took awhile to clean. By the time I was done, I was sound asleep with an empty beer :D (I had to reward myself with the amount of Bugs and tar stuck onto the bullbar, intercooler for the turbo and radiator)

I'll try and make it next time.

  7. Its odd that your getting 9.5L for fuel econ. First week I ran e10 and was getting 9 when driving to and from work in heavy/med stop start traffic. After I switched fuel too United 100 the week after It dropped to 8.1 with same conditions, BP Ultimate and 7-11 98 was also the same. I'm constantly on 8.1 now, I have reached 7 which is my lowest so far but that is highway driving with minimal traffic.

I have noticed that when running e10 my car tends to vibrate more, which has happened to 2 of my coworkers as well with the same model corolla.

Sorry I can't be of much help
