  2. hi guys,

    i have a battle with a Cat everytime i go an visit the in-laws in Canberra.

    unfortunately i have to leave the car outside in freezing temperatures and the Cat usually climbs onto the car.

    doing this he has scratched my right hand side head light and alittle bit of the bonnet in the corner.

    my major concern is the head light has it has most of the damage.

    is there any product i can use to buff the scratches away, wax or polish?

    thanks in advance.

    Bru

  3. Looking good mate. Nice to see you have a helping hand with cleaning :lol:

    Like those headrest monitors as well how they have the cover for them. Also never realised the Sportivo leather seats were designed like that (as in the raised bit either side of the headrest). That was something I noticed on the TRD and thought only those seats had.

    Edit: Disregard my last comment. I had forgotten what my Sportivo looked like... just in cloth.

    Thanks mate, yeah little one doesnt leave me alone...its a must when i do wash the car

    Sunday is the only full day together...he loves it.

    yes i was worrried about the seats...but they seem to sit nicely.

    hardly notice it really, the covers are great and nobody knows there is dvd players in there.

  4. Hi everyone,

    this has been a longtime coming but its been a while since i had some time to take photos and wash the car.

    I have been in the forums for a longtime but more active recently reading and posting.

    I've always loved cars but never been a heavy modifier of cars, last year i decided to upgrade my wheels for my Rav4 only to find out

    they sold me the wrong tyres with wrong loading...yes it was one of the tyre centres along Princes Hwy between Rockdale and Tempe.

    Since then i have taken an active role in researching everything and not do things on the spot without thinking.

    Anyways Feb 2010 i bought this Demo ZR6 model and i am extremely happy with it.

    After reading the forums first thing i did was Install GPS/DVD player from Ebay...best $370 i ever spent.

    And most recently i installed the dvd players on the headrest...this one was more tricky and time consuming but worth it.

    I also installed a switch in the middle console where i can turn off the headrest dvd player if the little falls a sleep or decides to chuck a tantrum..

    Next thing on the list is to get 19inch wheels but i need to offload some old wheels that still in the garage before i purchase another set.

    and of course lowering the car but this step im confused with what will happen with insurance, warranty and ride quality.

    here are some photos

  6. The way they dumped Kevin Rudd was disgusting, i was listening to 2UE today (yes, i listen to 2ue) and the personal assistant to Bill Clinton was in town. She said in America this would never have happened, once you are elected by the people you are entitled to serve your full term. the way she was talking gave me an indication we are the laughing stock around the world at moment.

    My colleague, reading the Chinese newspapers in China said similar story....laughing stock but of course not in those exact words.

    Although I agree, I for one am completely comfortable with our political system being regarded as a laughing stock by the American and Chinese governments.

    Americans are indoctrinated from a very young age with the notion that their democracy is the single greatest political ideology in existence. And most seem to sincerely believe it judging from the fettishistic way it needs to pass judgement on everyone else, despite ITS obvious shortcomings and caveats.

    As for the Chinese government's considered position on our democracy, let's not even go there...

    edit: God help you if you polled Abbot. It was convoluted enough when he was health minister, but for one, do you honestly want someone who has repeatedly demonstrated their inability to extricate their religious beliefs from their official capacities?

    Keisari, i agree..yes Chinese best to be left alone.

    at the end of the day with whats on offer we are stuffed either way we vote...to me both sides are idiots.

    its just sad we dont have more options...

    oh well soccer is about to start..all the best

  7. The way they dumped Kevin Rudd was disgusting, i was listening to 2UE today (yes, i listen to 2ue) and the personal assistant to Bill Clinton was in town. But Rudd wasn't elected by the people. We vote for our local MP, the most number of wins to a political party then results in that party having leadership, the party chooses their leader. The American and Chinese systems are different to ours.

    I disagree with that, Rudd was elected by is party and then the people.

    On election day you had a choice Rudd or Howard... Rudd won on Votes.

    I dont go to vote for a Party, i go and vote for the best person who i think will represent me and this country.

    Im aware that American's and Chinese have a different system, and i wasnt pointing out that US and chinese system is better.

    I was pointing out how we are viewed to them based on what is going on the news at the moment.

    Our systems allows you to vote for a local MP, the vote eventually will go to either Rudd or Howard at the time.

    So even though you think you are voting for you local MP reality is your vote is counted towards one of them.

    But i will say this about the American system, it is far more Democratic than our current System.

    i dont agree with mining tax and amongst other things but, this was just wrong.

    funny how Women around the country are claiming to be proud and advertising that Women can have a Top job.

    im not sexist...but We have NSW Women premier who got in not by the people but with the approval of Labour members, same goes with Ms Bligh in QLD and now Federal as well. we also have Lady Governor and Lady Sydney MAyor... although they got in fair and square.

    That Wayne Swan also deserves everything he gets...i hate that smug smile...

    i for one will will not vote Labour not becuase of Gillard but because of the way they carried on, when the going gets tough their answer is Change the PM or premier.

  9. i used those crimp connector things to wire it up. as its only minor power and not a proper stereo.

    yeh for the price its awesome. remember its a full headrest. not just the screens. and included dvd too and other things.

    to hide the wires. u feed it thru the post hole. u can remove the back cover of the seat (in the presara anyways) by removing two screws from the bottom, and popping off the back panel.

    then feed the wires down and under the seat and into the centre console. i wired mine to the accessory port.

    Hi Freddo,

    just purchased a set of dvd headrest and one question, the red wire is attached to the cigar power and where does the black wire go? "Ground wire"

    thanks

    Bru

  10. My car is not in any the picture.. :( :( :( :( :(

    Anw, Great effort mate... :lol:

    We do have thread of Aurion pics, due to search feature not functioning properly, couldn't find it for ya.

    But this does look like fun.. :P

    haha..sorry mate..there was afew more i had to save onto my gallery didnt get around to it.

    yeah thats what mean with the search function...i did search for "aurion picture thread" could not find it.

  11. When i bought my Aurion i was searching for pictures of modified Aurions to get some ideas.

    I found it difficult with searching and thought it would be a great idea to have a dedicated

    picture thread for our beloved Aurions. I know there is a Members Ride but again that includes so

    many other models.

    If this has been done before or not approved by one of the moderators please remove it.

    I also managed to get pictures of various members Aurions from this site & google and accumulated over period of time

    so i thought i would lodge it here...again if anyone opposes this please voice your concerns.

  12. Sorry if i posted this on the wrong section, if it is maybe someone could move to the right area.

    Link: http://vrimz.com/

    the above link is a site with a Wheel Simulator, you can pic most cars and most wheels styles and brands

    and see how they look on your car. you can even upload your current car and your wheels if not on the list and see how they look.

    its great site if you looking at buy new wheels... i think its an aussie site but im not sure.

  13. One persons opinion ...

    Not sure how they expect ride comfort and driver feedback to both be better in one car? They say the aurion is so quiet, whilst not giving the driver any feedback - does that mean the saab is loud with lots of body roll and you get feedback from every bump in the road?

    As for panel gaps, we only see the aurion. What are we comparing this to? In my head I'm imagining we are comparing it to a cardboard box, because nothing good or bad is said about the Saab.

    I was expecting Saab vs aurion, but I mostly read about a part of one car then it moved on to something else without any real comparison.

    We don't even have a final verdict or summary of pros and cons.

    Summary: don't use this review if you own a Saab and are considering buying an aurion ... test drive one for yourself.

    totally agree, when reading this blog/review i thought the guy had a really bad experience with the aurion.

    but no pictures of the beloved Saab to really compare.

  14. i almost bought a liberty Gt with my last car purchase and this is what i found.

    Aurion:

    Pros-

    * Cheaper to insure

    * More Space

    * more economic

    * you can use any fuel from E10 to premium

    * Cheaper to Service

    * Mechanically most likely last alot longer than subaru

    Cons-

    * often seen as a boring car

    * Handling not in the same league as subaru

    * Less class or prestige as some would say.

    * alot of Aurions starting to be seen on the road.

    Liberty Gt:

    Pros-

    * Classy car

    * AWD handling

    * Power

    * modifications unlimited ( to a certain degree)

    * lots of performance parts.

    * more Nimble and agile, easier to park

    Cons-

    * Expensive to run

    * Requires premium only

    * Expensive to Service.

    * Parts expensive

    * smaller car ( depends on your needs)

    * more attractive to Thieves.

    this is what i wrote down and i purchase my last car, hope this helps.

  15. No offence, but I think this is a bad idea. There are plenty of higher quality and better looking wheels out there to suit your Toyota.

    Although XR lines might be sorta similar to the Aurion, the Aurion (IMHO) has a classier but more boxy look than its rubbish dump counterpart. Dish suits the Aurion... Look for Jap made or Jap rip off rims.

    No offence taken, i understand some people might not like the idea of having ford wheels on a toyota.

    given that there so many available at cheap price i was willing to give it a go.

    but just not sure if they fit or not.

  16. Hi everyone,

    i did a search but could not find related topic.

    was wondering if the new Ford XR Rim 19 inch would fit an Aurion.

    i think they have a +35 offset but im not sure.

    anywone fitted one before?

    there a couple of people i found selling them and the tyre sizes seem to fit the aurion too, the price aint too bad with tyres
