So many inquiries about Estima keys! (Including myself)

is where I have ordered a new key for my 2002 Estima. Waiting to see if it works. Cheaper the the $150 quoted for the same thing from local locksmith. And link to forum below has info on programming your key (hopefully)

Knowledge is power, these forums, and the wonderful sharing people on them have saved me HUNDREDS so far, and I have only had my Estima two weeks!

How did you go?? I have given up for now. I have not been able to find definitive answer on what key to get for my car. Can get it into programming mode but the key is not recognised. From What I have read My 2005 model will be a different chip type to yours (possibly), but I would be curious to know if you were succesful

P.S I have just read your other message and am looking into it again, my biggest problem is trying to determine which key type if for my car and year. The keys don't specify this unfortunately. I am looking for an english owners/repair manual to see if it will tell me which key chipset to buy

Hi folks,

Recently bought a Toyota Japanese import. 2005 Estima L. Very happy with car and price I bought it for. It did not come with remote entry key, just black ingnition key. I looked around and came up with this key,

As a compatible with my car. Got the key delivered, put the tarago into programming mode, which comfirmed by the locking and unlocking of the doors, but it did not recognise the key. I have tried searching for other keys that might be compatible with no luck. I have sent message to the seller to see if they know which key might wrk with my car. Does anyone have any insight into this please. I went to Mr minit locksmith and they stated $400 to program key for me. The key above matches the one that Mr minit were going to program for me.

Any assistance much appreciated.
