EGR Blanking plate and sensor switch

Hi I have installed the EGR Blanking plate in and I I thought I now get the engine light come up on the dash, I am trying to figure out which sensor I need to connect to its self to make it think it is still working. Does any one know which sensor I should be looking at? For any one who has done this before what might you recommend to do? Thanks
