i thought that altering the lift point to suit to the box would be better than waiting for the lift to come you. As the power band is not high on the rpm, the acceration is there earlier.

has anyone tested this out yet on the 1/4mile track, NOT dyno. the power maybe down but it may improve the time.

Do you mean, altering the lift to kick in earlier so you could stay in lift when changing gears? You'd most deffinately lose power. And be slower on the 1/4mile than a driver that can stay in lift without changing lift engagement. If you think that way, you might want to change the rev limiter up a couple hundered instead so you can land lift easier.

getting to kick in earlier. i noe that u would lose power. but how do u noe that u be slower in the mile? in the sportivo. u change gears and it drops below the magic 6200. say u change the lift to 5000 where the gear change is. then lift is always there on the upshifts. u would get better pull. wouldnt the torque be more earlier?

I'm pulling figures out of my a*s now..

But say.. Change lift engagement down just say 500rpm and have it kick in 5700rpm. You'll have 130kw instead of the 140kw. You'll have that 130kw 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear and 4th gear. That means your 10kw behind through each gear change.

So say two sportivo were at the track. One with 140kw and crappy driver that can't stay in lift. And one with 130kw that can stay in lift. Take off both the same but the 140kw stivo leaps ahead abit before gear change. Change gears, 140kw stivo lags abit and go back in line wif the 130kw sportivo. It'll then have 10kw more than the 130kw sportivo through 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear.

And that's with a driver that can't stay in lift. Most drivers can stay in lift. You understand? Unless you can alter lift and still keep the power. Then you'll be faster.

But yeh, all that just came out of my b*tt so i may not be right.

Edit: Someone's bound to have a better more correct explaination than mine.

  2. Couldn't help but notice an integra type r on a corolla forum  :P .. Heheeh.. jokes.. It's is the buy sell section. Not necessary for only corolla. You can sell stuff on here if you want.

*Note, celica section is just next door. So i pop in here from time to time :P So don't come with wif "i couldn't help but notice celica in the corolla forum.. Hehehe..

Fair enough I rest my case B)

    Hahahaha.. cheers man.. :)

  4. Ask nino_leb. He has one :P ...

Hmm.. i dunno of any 12-13sec sportivo. But 13 is possible with forced induction. Either turbo/supercharger :P or nitrous oxide.

    N/a.. umm.. i guess it's possible wif just i/h/e/ecu/weight reduction(including yourself)/high comp pistons/ valve/valve spring/clutch/flywheel.

I know of a celica doing low 14's with 130kw atw (i/e/ecu/dr). Not a corolla but pretty close.

Oh yeh.. and what he said. LSD!!!!! stupid 2zz without lsd sdkfljas

  5. Cams haven't been released yet. TPR and a few other companies are making prototypes and should be release later this year. Check newcelica.com or everythingcelica.com for cam release. They talk alot about it over there.

And 8.2sec claim? Someone must be seriously messed up to pull out 8.2sec out of the sportivo.  :P

check any celica site...there are a few places doing cams but its all very hush hush...and as of now i dont think anyone has even started on the exhaust cam yet?...or am i wrong????

Yeh.. everything is apparently hush hush. But on some of the threads. TPR has leaked abit of info. Can't remember where or what. None of the company is ready to release the cams yet as they aren't getting the gains they want.

  7. yee, i got sum result papers i just need to get scanned but i promise theyll be up soon, in the pic of my car u can see sum intersting images, one thing i advise for anyone who gets a supercharger is that on a manual is causes a 2.3 sec lag and is quicker with auto, to fix this soulotion i have purchases a quick shift kit which i havent intalled yet, sounds interesting but i just had my car since jan so im tryn to get to no it better. LOL its not easy wen yoru on your L's and go with your brother to drags ? LMAOZ

Wtf... supercharger causing 2.3sec lag?? Whoa.... you must have a bucket load power and traction once boost comes round to get 12.9.. The quick shift kits just heaps shifting... i dunno why it'll help lag. And with a manual??I thought manuals were always faster than auto.. Once again.. I don't know much about cars.. Explain..

    Cheers

  8. Again we ask what it is that you drive?

Apparently he drive a Supercharge sportivo that has won lots of awards at autosalon and does 12.9sec 1/4.. Check the wrx vr sportivo thread..

OH.. I'm guessing that will make it the fastest 2zz in australia i think??

  9. Hey Guys and girls,

Well as of this saturday ill be the proud new owner of a ST185 gt4 celica..... will post some pics as soon as i get her home :)

should have kept the Sportivo girly....

na this has potential ;) , here r the pics

That is one sweet ride you got yourself.. Better than the corolla imho.. But i'm abit bias.. Hope to see you in one of the cruises..

  10. Sweet. Did you lose any power adding the resonator on? I'm thinking the kazuma exhaust but instead of removing the cat. I'd change it to a high flow cat and maybe shorter resonator. Do you think it's worth it?

I didnt lose any power when I put the Kazuma on...I gained. Also...dont take your cat off. I'm still running my stock cat. From what I've seen from experience, because I have had two seperate kazumas on it...one witht the stock resinator, and one without, I kept the one with the resinator...sounds a hell of a lot better.

Here is what you do...get a high flow cat for a replace on your stock cat, get them to cut the kazuma and weld in your stock resinator, they'll need to cut it off your old stock exhaust. Then get the kazuma welded on, and it'll sound very, very sweet! =) Has a very original sound...like If I'm sitting in my house, and my wife is on her way home, I can hear her coming before she even gets down our road. lol Have fun with it...I still say Kazuma is the way to go for the 2000-2005s!

Sweet.. Thanks.. I was worried that removing the cat and the resinator would be illegal. But not removing it will defeat the purpose of getting the kazuma and the trd one would be better.

  11. It does not pass 095db laws...if thats what your asking...hehe.

On most racetracks here in the states you have to have your car 95 decibls or less to race on them.  It screams...but I've toned mine down by adding the stock 2000-2005 resonator, which leaves it with a lower hum when it idles and a sweet 0-go sound! Worth every cent!  :D

  12. Hi everyone, this is my first post on the boards! I'm grew up in Woomera...its a very small town in Sout Au. but now I think they are using it for one of the camps!  :(  I'm actually living in the states right now! But I drive a red 2000 celica, I'll get a picture soon as possible!

Mods as of right now...GT-Champion (9pc) Wide Body Kit, TRD cat-back Kazuma exhaust, Injen Racing Devision cold air intake, custom painted interior, some custom interior lighting, and a whole new sound system with some subs in the trunk.

Hope to add soon some 18x9 rims...to balance out the widebody kit...wheels look kinda sunk into the car righ now...

I wish I could come back to Au...but my wife wont let me! I may have conned her into giving me a few weeks over there tho...maybe I could meet up with some Celi drivers when im there!

Sound like a sweet ride. How loud is the trd kazuma exhaust? Post some pics.
