  1. I have a 2014 Corolla Levin Hatch and I'm unhappy with the transmission. I mentioned this problem in my intro post. When decelerating (at any speed but mostly low) then accelerating there is a sloppy feel to the transmission. Hard to describe but like a backlash from worn components. This may be normal for Toyota but does not occur as far as I know in other makes with similar gearboxes. I've driven a Nissan X-trail which was smooth as silk. I mentioned it to the dealer at the 1000km check but they brushed me off. Anyone experienced similar issues??
  2. Yes, continuously variable -sorry for my inaccurate description. . My previous car had DSG so if the apparent looseness in the CVT is normal, I'll learn to live with it.
  3. I am also interested in after market DRLs. Have a look at the Nava Australia website site. They have several good products. Repco can supply for up around $190. I asked a few auto electricians and generally fitting time is about 2 hours. Less if you attach the lights yourself. Interested to hear if you go that route. I'm still thinking about it.
  4. You are right about that Trent. I mentioned to the service person that the speakers on the left of the car were "blurry" and I thought there was too much play or slap in the transmission. They agreed on the speaker but there are none to be had in Australia and have to wait and did not agree on the transmission comment so I will have to learn to accept the annoying slack when decelerating. It may well be a characteristic of the constant velocity concept but hopefully will be tuned out eventually.
  5. Hi folks. Just had my 1000km check in new Corolla. Downsizing from Skoda Superb diesel.
