Hi, I have tried to check the fault codes but all I'm getting is a continual flashing of the engine check light, the motor is A transplant or a reconditioned one, it starts, runs , and depending on load, the engine light comes on and off ,but does not seem to affect the engines operation, I believe the ECU's are no longer available, and also that the capacitors might need replacing, I can do that if needed,be nice to know without going to a toyota dealer though. Thanks for the reply, If I purchase free wheeling hubs, is it just a matter of taking off the axle cover on the hub and replacing it with the 6 bolt cover and hub.There is a lot to learn but I can usually suss it out pretty quickly. Short of pulling it all apart is there a good read on how its done, thanks again. Bob

Hi All, I have another question, is it necessary to have free wheeling hubs on a 4x4, I have a 1994 Surf, and was wondering what would the benefits be, and does the hubs disengage the splines where the axle comes into the hub. Not sure on how it works,would like some informed opinions thanks. Bob.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, I have a 1994 hilux surf,I have the turbo diesel KZ-TE , the engine check light is on and off ,mainly on is this a similiar issue and fix to the petrol models, or should I be looking for something else? timing, fuel,? any info would be appreciated, the motor has been reconditioned 8000klms ago, runs sweet.
