  1. Hey all,

I thought that you might be intrested to see the blitz compressor compared to the TTE/R. Alot of Yarii in America are opting for this due to it be a better as it is a Blitz twin-screw supercharger (apparently better).

http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/07.....;/photo_08.html is a link to the kit and dyno sheet.

Overall I think that it is the only option for the Yaris right now which makes it the beter option.

  2. geez thats freakin expensive for barely any gains.

very true, and its not like as if you can upgrade internals and then run higher boost like a turbo. I have found out that there are three settings at which you can run the Blitz Supercharger Kit for the Yaris but overall the gains between the two are very similar.

  3. What are your thoughts on the TRD Muffler for the Auris on the Japan TRD site?

Basically I want a nice raspy tone that would sound good. Not loud and definately no drone, just a hint more sportiness.

I have been quoted $600 ex. installation. Will this void my warranty being a TRD part?

Also what do you think of panel filters? K&N or TRD?

I think that if the parts get installed by Toyota then it would not void your warranty, however I would advise that you ask your Toyota dealer before hand. I also think that it depends on the delear. For example, I think that Toyota has 3 or so TRD delears in Australia (correct me if im wrong) and maybe if you were to approach them they would be less hesitant on the topic. (make sure you ask the right person)

  4. hey all

as mentioned above in my post I have had... "HAD" the same problem as you guys and well I took my car in for service and told them that it was the belt slipping. Please when you take you car for service next please tell them to lubricate and check the belt. I play both the piano and guitar by ear, and if we are all talking about the same problem then I can guarantee that its the belt.

Its worth a shot and well it costs nothing aswell.

  5. No problems with the radio but CD player tends to just stop working. I only got my car 2 days ago. Brand spanking new off the boat from Japan. Pretty ****ty when my CD just stopped playing. Couldn't even eject it unless I turned the ignition off and on. cd's were new too

Take it to the dealership ASAP. You wouldn't want any problems to continue nagging you throughout the life of the vehicle.

wow... the same things has happened to me, however I complained to Toyoya and they agreed to replace it. They took my serial number of the HU and are going to call me back when a new one arrives (roughly 2 weeks).

I dont plan on having the stock HU in for much longer than 3 months as I am wanting to upgrade to somthing better, but now at least if I want to sell the woking HU I can.

  6. I had the exact same problem with my 07 Corolla... took it to the dealer and told them that it sounded like as if the belt was slipping on startup, especially in the cold. A little adjustment here and there and some lubricant removed the noise completely.

Been on the UK TOC. Few other auris owners got this problem too. Its a common one i think.

Is your noise coming from the front of rear?

it defenietly came from the front, no doubt about it.

  7. Hi all,

I have sold my yaris :( , but i now drive a 07 Rolla with 17's  . Looking forward to spotting many of you boys and girls on the street, although most of the Spotted are South of the river, i'm sure we will bump into each other sooner or later...

    um.... im a northie

and welcome to the WA club :)

hope you come to the next cruise which is planing tobe a night cruise

p.s i dair som1 to put xmas lights on their car :P

xmas lights... now that there is some serious BLING!!!!

  8. I'm not 100% sure about this but isn't the drivers side lights a little lower as not to blind oncomming traffic. For example, you drive on the left lane and oncomming traffic passes on your right hence the lights on the right side of the car (drivers side) would be a little lower to compensate.

A for the bulb replacement I am heading in the HID direction as our Corolla's has projectors and height adjustment to avoid the watchful eyes of the police.

  9. Tonight when i was driving, went into this big curve at some parking, i forgot to go on the side and the front just went bom on the ground and stuck, by the time i got the car out of that, the skirt is full scratch and rip out at the middle. But its been snapped back on now.

Anyone with the 07 hatch had the same problem, ? lucky its the plastic part on the front skirt

    Also, is that replaceable??

The exact same thing has happened to me twice, I am really considering not to lower my rolla because of this. I have previously lowered my Yaris and never have I had any problems relating to this.

I am kinda lucky not to have damaged my front skirt to a point where physical damage can be seen, however I think you can buy the part that you mentioned that snapped off. Im not sure but I think your best bet would be Toyota.

To all the 9th gen corolla owners, have you experienced anything similar to this and have you decided to lower your car car regardless? (Sorry for stealing the thread :spiteful:)

  10. Hey Guys I was wondering is it possible for Toyota Dealerships here to order in Toyota Motorsports(europe) parts?

    Because I want this

    AurisRoofSpoiler.jpg

correct me if im wrong but isnt the spoiler for the 9th Gen Corolla. Unless your planning on making it a custom job I dont think that it will be an easy fit...

  11. The question is turbo or engine conversion....

ZPI Racing are releasing a turbo kit for the 1.5L Yaris. A choosen Yaris owner has been driving the turbo Yaris for a while and has had no problems with both the company or the kit. On the dyno the car reached 180hp, roughly 134Kw at 8psi. The reason for such a low boost is that the internals are not designed for turbo. The con-rods on the Yaris are like pencils. The 8psi is a guarenteed safe boost level for the stock engine.

The Yaris has been pushed to 12psi but engineers say that the car would not last a week. Inorder to run such a high boost the enigne would have to be beef'd up. With the car setup on 8psi they were able to snap the axel with slicks on a quarter mile.

In countries like France the 1.8L Yaris have been release but will not be coming to Oz.

Would it be easier and safer to get an engine conversion of a halfcut Corrola or stick with what I have?

    • The Yaris engine can only be safely driven with 8psi boost
    • Risk of blowing the Yaris engine
    • Engine conversion can become costly
    • More turbo kits available for Corolla engines

I dont want rediculos amounts of power as it is a light car... all in all I want to go the safest route possible.

ZPI claim that the kit is around (american) $3k

A half cut + man hours = havent got a clue

    Yaris on the dyno!!!

  12. Back at toyspeed we used Lanyards n stickers.

Ill find pics of the stickers......

    Quarter_sticker.jpg

Most of the members in the dunedin area has the wee quarter panel stickers on their cars (and a few cars around dunedin weve never seen on the forums, or at the meets!). Wee quarter ones are about 30cm long by 3cm high

Now this is wicked!!! If someone made these for TOCA I would get it.
