Hi everyone I have a RAV4 Cruiser. I think it's a 2007 model (must double check that). But anyway, it needs some new tyres. Size is 225/65 R17 Importance to me is : Quiet, smooth ride Good grip in wet and dry Stability After that, comes price (not that I'm made of money, mind). I don't really do off-road stuff. Mainly city/suburban, although on the odd occasion I do find myself in sticky situations (e.g. the occasional dirt road or client's muddy country driveway) where I'm glad to have the assistance of 4x4 available to me. But essentially, I'm driving the very civilised bitumen roads ..... saves me washing my car, lol. Boring, I know I've been recommended : Michelin - Latitude Tourer Bridgestone - Ecopia EP850 Dunlop - GrandTrek PT2 Maxus - MC36 Toyo - C100 And the various people/companies who have made those individual recommendations usually manage to discredit the recommendations given by the others. So yep .... given that we can't "try before we buy" when it comes to tyres, and given that they aren't exactly cheap (no matter what the cheapest is), I'm getting somewhat confused and more and more undecided instead of the opposite . I'd like to get it right and make a decision that I'll be happy with. So where else to turn except to the "power of the people" and who else would know best other than those with personal experience :D . Your comments, opinions and guidance in helping me make a decision would be really appreciated . Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi all. Thank you for letting me join the forum. Can't say that I'm a car enthusiast, per se, but can tell you that whilst I don't know much about cars, I do like them to be the best they can be and to make all driving experiences enjoyable. I'm needing new tyres for my RAV4. Might be a "no-brainer" for most of you out there but there's so much conflicting advice and I'm not sure if it's being given because of pure honest opinion or whether it's because there is a loyalty or even a financial interest influencing some of the recommendations. Which is what has led me to this forum. Posting in General Forum - I guess that's the best forum to place this topic in, so I look forward to seeing and hearing your thoughts and opinions there. Thanks again for allowing me to become a member of your forum :).
