  1. tat's definately not wat they wan to do, NEITHER the insurance companies~

do u know how much money are made from young drivers??(not only from speeding, but hoon, insurance and stuff) i m pretty sure with private interest theory working in society, insurance companies will want to keep things this way~

Yet another politician trying to justify their worth by doing nothing.

    +1

So for NSW there is the new speeding rules that I believe is the raise revenue. Now this. Whats next? raising the legal driving age to 25? lol

  2. when u r consider about SQ (i assume is sound quality), u should b more worried about the other important equipments (hu, tuning, speaker, amp setup, enclosure, install, positioning...... .... .....) and subwoofer should b the least thing to b worried about, coz u gonna tune it as low as possible anyway (just a little below u can hear it).. go mea, study more there~ there are tons of pro there better than i am ;)

  3. should hv read the manual myself again before asking mech, ended up spending $200 for the module..

dannywss, you completely missed the point here. For him to get the feature that he wants, he DOES NOT need to get an aftermarket system. The ECU has a feature which can be activated to do exactly what he wants it to do. In this case it will lock at 20km/h:

To activate this feature, and/or any other customisation features (the service manuals show what can be done), you need to take it into a Toyota Service Department as they use their Scan Tool for this.

  4. please read more about alarm using the search function on forum.

and then search info on ebay or google, glass break sensor, tilt sensor, ultra, microwave... all kinds of sensor for different function..

i would say how it is installed if more important than wat brand u go with..

well, if u got problem like your neighbour, tat's wat your insurance is for..

  5. oh, recommendation..

i even used the navig8r tat cost less than $160 on ebay, they do work~ tried update the map with the downloaded ones, it worked as well, played with poi, it works~ mp3, photo, all shxt as well tat i didnt care to use.. only thing tat i don like, is tat the design isnt as pretty as the tomtom, navman.......... (tats all!!)

out of tat 3 choices, i would go for garmin, then tomtom, dont bother the eonon..

both garmin and tomtom are easier to find updates.. go google search~

  6. it all depends how and where u gonna use your navi..

i can see that you put 'good price' as the first priority on the list, so meaning u wont b willing to spend more than $400.. *i guess

if u r in city, tall buildings all around, portable ones are most likely very inaccurate.. hard to get signal/all the 8(or 6) satellites.. so, u probably better off start looking at road signs ><"

portables ones are not tat useful/good when u r tooo far out into country side as well, which is in my case, i am always looking at rural lands..

even if u spend top dollar($1k-2.5k) for blaupunkt, pioneer, eclipse, kenwood....(HU tat read map from CD, not memory card-sd card) with the function that they can calculate where u r even with minimal signal, as it is reading your ACTUAL on-road speed (not the speed reading thru satellites), u still hv problem like.. cant upload the speed and red light camera into the POI (which many ppl will find tat very useful..) Not that the disc which cost $2xx-3xx to update, doesnt include the POI for speed and red light, is tat the HU itself is not design/program to show those POIs..

tat's why i have 4 different navigators on 2 cars, including 2 portable and 2 built in. (and map on each car, overkill?? :toast: )

but if u just using it like normal ppl do, u like spending as little as u can, downloading updating maps online for free, and get free POI for updated speed/red light cam (or mayb just little cost, go ebay~), then portable is your way, dont worry too much on brands.. same thing

it is still always good, to keep a map in your car, which i find it very useful..

p/s: in dash ones are really good, but prepare to spend a lot if u wanna update it.. which is only once in 1-3 years??

    experience: owned 4 different portable ones(kept 2), and 2 in-dash

  7. just something extra to think of..

I have a skyline v35 tat i m thinking to go thru FI mod, turbo was my first choice, and then it changed to SC.. But when i sat in a car with SC last track day, i found that i actually love how turbo sounds more.. whining is just.... not my liking..

    $15k? GO CUSTOM TURBO!!

  8. :o The presaras have blinds? LoL..

I know the middle east aurions have that... But not the presaras..

The Presaras certainly do have blinds and that is one of the features that help me to convince the wife to purchase the Presara.... She hates the sun on her neck if she is sitting in the back seat - our previous car is a station wagon!!!

    :lol::lol::lol:

funny thing is, i paid extra $100 to get an aftermarket kit tat do the SAME thing.. on my sx6..

  9. its good to see everyone has the same idea/knowledge on something.. :o

i suggest u keep the originals ones on, unless u thinking to get bigger tyres.. but do some saving first..

aurion isnt a SPORTS car or anything close, so noisy tyres wont really suit.. IMO

it is more like a family car, with a little bit of extra power for carrying the usual family stuff~

  10. funny thing u said about pedders, look at for sell section where i posted my pics, better "level" i recon than kings..

reason i didnt go for kings is bcoz their rear is always lower than the front, which is just weird as...

but nice colour of rim for a white car.

thanks guys - I finally gave my car full detail and it look mint again :P clayed it after 2 weeks of rain, then i waxed it then i used top reflection mothers and man does it look like a mirror I took it for drive and had people comment how nice and shiney my car looked. its that smooth and reflective that iam impressed that i haven't seen in 3 weeks :P

    Ingres - thanks pal

VFX - thanks for your coments but I wouldn't go any lower for the fact that any lower you will be scrubbing non stop and i can live with 2.5cm gap for the front.

Elegnt - no angel eyes :D thanks for your comments i have seen my mates on peddars and I think i did the right choice seeing my car all level. having the back higher makes the car all tailly. I like my lowering all level :D thumbs up for kings. also far from VIP yet my kits expected this week. been few delays but to be expected

    things to do

    5. 18inch stroker sub woofer :D dooof doof only for comps - I want to prove i still have it in the DB drags lol

    6. finish of my 1973 cortina - which i could of if i didn't invest in the Aurion lol
