Hi all. Glen1 from Newcastle here. I've just bought an '03 Rav4, which will be passed onto my son who is about to get his licence. As he's a teenager though, I'll be the one asking all the tech-related questions on the Rav. He just wanted a car that 'worked', so it was either Corolla or Rav. So I drove my trusty X-Trail to Sydney to look at the nicely warmed up Rav, which ran nice and quiet, and so the deal was arranged for the following Saturday. I duly caught the train a week later, with close to 5 grand in a money belt around my waist, and at the rendezvous site, I found a noisier cold engined Rav. Reluctantly, I still did the deal, thinking it was an easy fix. See other post, titled "what the hell is this noise?".
