  1. In my 2007 camry sportivo on average when I fill up between 54 - 58 litres I get about 640kms to the tank, between 8.0 - 9.0 L/100. The last tank i filled up 58 litres and got 720kms cause we went down south, 5.8L/100!! the last half of the tank was peak driving too and stayed around 7.3 L/100 the last couple of hundred k's

  2. and1 - hey i thought I saw your car there once when i went down there. Car was off the road since july 2008 so it's nice to finally have it back!

LEGEND888 - thanks :) will try come down to the next meet so you can see what the big fuss is about :P

GTL05T - Yeah thanks man it made stripping the engine bay a bit quicker when the mrs helped out but unfortunately didn't speed up the process of getting the car finished

JT3 - yeah i'll have to take you for a drive but bring a spare change of pants :P this things a monster now.. is very dangerous if not careful.

11TWO - yeah I bought all the chromed parts and the engine off dan rucci but the mechanic that built the engine was the same person who did all the work on the car along with his colleague

sketra - I had no idea what your rim idea was :P i bought this rims about a year ago 17x7 black with a polished lip :)

want to take the car to the drags in the next month, should get low 13s with ease but traction will be a problem as it doesn't get traction until 4th! Made 202kw atw with ease on a conservative tune.. turbo is rated for 400HP and engine can handle 400HP as it's all forged internals etc.

  3. Well i hope so too Rom, but i found out that the rear quarter has been damaged before and already has had bog work... so i'm not happy. Would anyone know if i could get away with not fixing that door and rear quarter but fix the rust spots to get her over the pits? The door still opens and the window still works so would the pits biartch about it

You might just have to go to the wreckers and see if they have any panels of another soarer, as far as im aware i thought rust had to be cut out you couldnt just try bog it up? Nice project you got there but looks like $$ need to be spent, thought you were sick of spending on your corolla hehe

  4. Car is back on the road finally! i'll let the pictures do the talking

Last but not least the dyno graph!! a lot of power for a FWD let me tell you

    scan0001.jpg

272HP at the wheels with 313nm of torque!!

Car hits 1.6 bar at full boost and 1.7 on a cold night, if you do the conversion its 23-24 psi!

  5. only just recently bought my camry sportivo 07 and fuel consumtion isn't too bad. Only filled up twice, first time filled up 55 litres and fuel light came on about 550km so I filled up but could have stretched it a bit more but wanted to be safe, this was half metro half freeway driving. Filled up last week and managed 56 litres, now on half a tank at 340kms this trip, computer says range is 320km at 8.0L/100km so technically i should get 640km out of this tank. The lowest I have seen is 7.6L/100 and the most is 9.2 but sits around 8 - 9 L on average which i'm happy about.

  6. afaik his kit was from car mate and it wasnt exactly snug fit.. lots of work been put into it for it to fit nicely..

Hey that's right it was from www.carmate.com

needed a bit of modification to fit and needed to be primed and painted.

Will post up some progress pics of car shortly

  7. where are the mods when you need them...

once you get some decent wheels it'll look sick.. how will you afford to run the rolla and the lexus? 2 regos, insurance and petrol, I'm in the same boat :P

  8. you'll need to get the retards that made that exhaust to route it over the rear suspension subframe like it does from factory.

you will also need to route the exhaust over the rear suspension subframe like CHA54 mentioned otherwise they will say the exhaust is too low. Personally I'd fix what the cops told you to fix and then just make sure everything else is working in general like window wipers, water in the washer bottle, no engine oil leaks, indicators, reverse lights park lights and headlights etc... good luck lol

  9. bad new, update. I got yellow'd last night..... wasnt doing anything wrong on the roads just lost in mundi then flash there goes red and blue's. Gotta fix me tires and my green lights.... meh.... was so lucky i got off with no fine for havin green P's displayd when im on reds.... mad a hell of a good excuse which is kind of true anyhow... but yeah i got 9 days to fix the tires and the lights.

unlucky!! I know how it feels but my yellow was on for 3 months lol.

once you go over the pits they'll give you 30 days if you don't manage to fix everything up. But generally speaking you go over the pits and leave with a shopping list of things to fix, because your car isn't modified you should be alright :P

but about $90 to go over the pits and about $50 thereafter

if your exhaust is too loud they'll test it so if you think it's too loud i'd get a resonator or something to quieten it down

  10. what the flying ****..... your **** disturbed as **** hell spillage.....

now im going to say my gearbox is on its way and so i will have to get a new gearbox/manual conversion maybe.... or service it... its one of the seals i think inside the gearbox so its a very big job.... :( i think thats wat u get when u thrash a non serviced car.

what makes you think it's the seals? Make sure there is oil in the g/box first, shouldn't be a very big job..

  11. HAHAHA Yeah ill work on rims when i start work.... and the tint deffently.... hate the car being hell hot... its getting there... :)

if you want cheap tint let me know I have a mate in morley starting his business and he's one of the best tinters in perth, all ryz designs

Hey my midnight express tint from tint a car is peeling can he fix it?

shouldn't it be under warranty with them? if not it would be $35 to fix it, assuming it's only 1 window

  13. Looking real sweet mate!

How'd the meeting with the engineer go?

the boss is the engineer ;) and it went good. windscreen hopefully tomorrow, was ment to be today but he didnt show :( and now i need a new muffler. the other one falling apart inside out.

that's really handy because it cost me $300 to get the engineer to look at it and send me the certificate. But I had to fill out a modification permit that the pits gave me and then part of that was to get the engineers certificate.

i wonder if i should get the permit and do that first before taking the car over for the yellow sticker then, or do it all when im down there?

btw, how is your seca going jayrome?/

go to the pits first and come out with a shopping list of things :P they will probably tell you to fill out a modification permit as the engine is now supercharged. You fill out the permit and send it in, they then send you back a letter requesting an engineer's report for things that they list in the letter. I upgraded the front brakes and engineer had to check that was all good, make sure the speedo reads correctly and all this other crap.

Your advantage is that you know the engineer and are getting it done for free so it may not matter which order you do it in, whether you get him to engineer the engine being in your car or wait until you get to the pits and see if they even say anything about it.

my seca is still without an engine, but fingers crossed next week the engine bay should be painted and engine put in. Im hoping in the next 2 - 3 week it'll all be done, after that i'll still need to tune the stinger EMS and get new wheels

  14. I have to disagree with Jayrome on some things.

Definitely service at 5,000km. Check if the timing belt was done at 100k km. That is a MUST DO item. It is also good to do the waterpump at the same time if it has not been done. Those 2 are Pain In The ***** jobs.

You would only choose 98 octane if you had noticable pinging.

195/50R15 tyres on 15x6.5 rims is what I'd choose. You can go to 16s or 17s with the right width and offset without much penalty.

Agree on the paper cones, though. The front two 4" speakers that are in the dash are probably totally shagged by now. Mine were missing the entire large cone.

Also, it is simply not worth doing performance mods on this car. Big brake upgrades, swaybars, extractors. Not worth it. Just buy an SX if you want to do that. It can be fun and a good learning process, but not WORTH it.

If you have no speakers in the back, I believe you can fit some 5x7's in teh stock spots above the rear struts. Some models have speakers there and some don't. The ones that do have the mesh to cover the speakers with.

you don't need higher octane just for pinging. It gives better fuel economy too. Im saying because the engine has low kms then put in good fuel ( i suggested 98 but premium is only 95 and will suffice. Service it regularly and the engine will last a long time as long as it's not constantly thrashed everyday.

a brake upgrade isn't always considered a performance mod. Nothing wrong with putting Series 2 rotors and pads to replace the stock non vented solid discs, even getting rid of the drums on the back with ae101 discs on the rear. If you know where to look it's not too expensive.

I suggested 16 or 17 inch because IMO it looks a lot better than stockies or 15" but each to their own.

  15. looks stock... any mods u planning to do to it??? but nice work lol... personally i hate secas cause they have no power well at least the one i had, had no power lol, like seriously 0-60 in like wat 10 seconds lol hahah sooo dam slow. it was a struggling car... like seriously my car right now could beat it without trying lol...

but yer its an ok car for a first car =]... my first car was a 1981 toyota corolla but he sold it off :@ that pissess me off heaps cause that thing was a beast hahah sorry for going off topic

not too sure.. probs new rims or something.. but atm i have no idea what to do.. or if im going to keep it <_<

it seems to be quite quick when you push it.. my parents never did.. but when i do it seems to move so thats a start lol

    nahh thats ok mate

Because it's your first car and your unsure whether you'll keep it or not here are a few of my suggestions

    - regular service (every 5 - 10,000kms seeing as its only got 100XXXkm on the clock)

    - use premium fuel or 98 ultimate or vortex

    - Tint (which you already had planned)

    - Rims, i'd go for 16 inch or even 17 inch but then you have to roll the guards and you might get scrubbing if the wheels aren't the right offset.

    - stereo.. replacing the stock paper cone speakers and head deck with something decent.

    - sports steering wheel and gearknob, just to spice the interior up a bit lol.

you obviously have never come across a seca with a 4AGZE or a 4AGTE then :P
