Hello Everyone,

Wish you all a very Happy & Prosperous New Year 2017!

I would like to introduce myself as a new driver(P) on the road with a used car(Toyota Corolla 2010 Sedan 1.8L 4 Cylenders) bought a month back. I got it full tank from dealer. I read the manuals to make myself familier with the car. Now, when I checked my odo meter to check the average fuel consumption, I am completely shocked. It is showing me 18L/100 km. I seriously don't know much about what to check and how to make this mileage better. I am looking forward to all of you to guide me on (do's & don't ) to improve the mileage.

  Is that 18L/100km a readout from the dash, or is it your calculation after fueling at the pump?
  
  With more than twice the usual fuel consumption, surely a good mechanic should find something amiss when they hook up their instruments to the Car's computer.
  
  You can check for yourself as well if you buy an ELM327 mini bluetooth adapter from ebay and connect to it with your smartphone and Torque app.
