  1. Not too happy today after finishing work today I find a scratch on my car to the metal on the passangers side.... All the way from the front of the car to the end of the front door (two panels). Hopefully our camera at work shows who it is so I can slit there *** damn necks....

A ball park figure would be good, also local to the Springwood (QLD) area would be good as well...

    Thanks.

    Peter.

  2. I heard the exact same thing at work Yesterday....... Hopefully it does happen. The ADR (i think) have come down on Toyota again, with false claims on there web site..... about the power of the car..... Also something to do with noise levels with the engine.

I was told that Toyota is working on a performance chip for the Rolla that will bring it upto the correct power rating.

I guess we just have to wait and see.....

    Pete.

  3. I'm from Brisbane/Springwood area. I got Anthony at Autobarn on Moss street to do the custom pods for me. The $600 ish was just for the door pods and the tweater mounts. Keep in mind it is full custom and took about two days to do almost. I like the pods, they are exactly what I asked for...... I also like the 3x red LED's that he put in for me to match the speedo cluster.

The Focals do have a fairly large magnet, I guess you could bring them out a tad with a little ring around them and keep the stock face to the door trims.... I never realy wanted stock looking trims first of all.

Soon to come full boot install.... Think false floor with a big **** IDMAX 12" SUB and two very large amps I have allready. Also might be upgrading speakers for full three way sound.

    Peter.

  4. Yeah It is the Pioneer Top of the line DVD head unit. I sold it a little while ago, never used it for DVD. I now have the top of the line Eclipse headunit.

The Door pods cost about $600 all up, full custom install does cost a fair bit..... The speakers in the doors are Focal Utopia's and needed to be put in some sort of pod to fit properly.

    Peter.

  5. Hi,

Focals can be a pain......They didn't really have a chance of fitting without the custom door pods I got made.... The head unit is a peace of cake to install. Just pop the air vents off and a couple of screws latter and the headunit comes out..... The first thing to do before starting the work is to get a propper surround for the headunit.... A toyota pocket looks crap, there should be a Toyota one available from the dealer. I got mine from Northfeild car sound up here in Brisbane...

Good luck with the install. It can be a pain but is worth it.... I spend too much on car audio....:) :)

  6. Hi,

I don't have many probs with the car, My only shift probs are caused by the reverse lock out. If I try to shift fast at high revs I usually use too much force and it gets caught there and is hard to shift.

If i grab the gear stick like a gun, I usually shift a hell of a lot better with no problems. Mainly due to not getting the stick caught in the reverse lock out area.

I have also used Optimax and nearlly every other fuel on the market with no problems.....

    Peter.

  7. My system so far consists of the following parts.

    Pioneer AVH-P7550DVD DVD headunit.

    Pioneer CDX-P1280 12x CD stacker

Focal Utopia 165W splits in the doors.

    2X Image dynamics IDMAX 13"

    2X JL1000/1 AMPS

    1X JL300/4 AMP

Soon to come parts are a 15" LCD mounted in glove box and a car computer, with sattelite navigation. Also full custom boot install to come.......

    I'll post some pics soon.

    Peter.

  8. The speaker install was done at Autobarn in Springwood, I know a person there and he did a good job for me. The install cost a fair bit but it is worth it.

The components that my car has so far are listed below.

    Pioneer AVH-P7550DVD headunit

    Focal Utopia 165W splits

    JL 300/4 AMP

    JL 1000/1 AMP

    4 Soundstream USA 10's

I also have a computer running multimedia to the headunit, consisting of.

    VIA eden M10000 motherboard

    DVD player and burner

    Wireless 80211g card

Running off a DC to DC power supply.

Computer is runnign win XP for the time being but will run a Linux distro at a latter date.

There will be a custom made trackball placed in the drivers side door, where the Window controls are and a keyboard is going to be stored in the Glove box. Possibly I will add a bigger LCD that will run VGA and not RCA.

    Pete
