Also what are they/ what are they for?

G'day, i recently got a second hand TJM bar for my hilux and just wanting to ask a stupid question. ill add photos but basically there are 2 square bits welded to the frame/chassis? That are preventing the bar from sliding all the way in to position. Question is can I cut these bits off as they don't in any way look like they integral to the chassis.
