  1. G'day all! Some time ago was looking for parts and someone suggested a parts place, I think in Castle Hills or Seven Hills..?? Might have been a chain store but the owner is into Toyotas..??? Anyone got a clue who I'm looking for? Trying to track down some brake parts for RA40. Online listings are nuts....
  2. G'day, all. Mate of mine has an MX73, '85, 5MGE sedan. Wont start. Diagonosed fuel pump issue. Looking online can't determine from the plethora of offerings which is the correct replacement fuel pump. [EDIT: Starts with ether sprayed directly into intake and appears to run normally for a few seconds till ether evaporates] Some ebay offerings look suspiciously cheap, others look "Toyota Dealer" expensive. Budget is serious issue, need to get cheapest replacement that won't die in a month. Around AU$100 seems ot be the sweet spot. There's a Walbro one code Gss 342 claims to be for an MX73. Another one from Fuelmiser claims the same, code FPE273. Superficially, from photos, look the same. How we we determine which to order? Any recommendations?
  3. The oil light stays on for like 20-30secs after startup until engine begins to warm up. Engine appears to run fine, drives fine, no apparent knocking or other noises. Although 84 model, is super-low kays, only 110K kms. My mate thinks it might be a faulty sensor as otherwise oil system appears OK (recent filter, good level, good colour) but I'm worried it might be the oil pump about to fail. Does anyone know if a replacement sensor is readily or easily available? [Sunday, so can't ask Toyota..] Anyone had this experience and resolved it? Any idea how to check if the oil pump is failing? And finally, what would a mechanic charge to replace oil pump (as I can't do mech work myself)?
