  1. Hi all, im a newbie to this forum. I need some advice on my 2012 auto camry. It’s an ex uber car and has done 190k. I know there is a very common transmission issue for the 2012-2014 model which the car will shudder while driving under light loads between 40-80km. Unfortunately, it happens to my camry. Toyota dealer will only fix it with no charge within 5 years warranty or under 150k. One of the customer officers offered me $150 for the diagnosis and my friend told me that i might probably need 3 grand to change the torque converter and update the ECM software. I have done some quick researches on the internet and came up with 3 ideas. 1, flush the transmission fluid. Is that a stupid idea and waste the money? 2, go find a mechanic to change the entire gear box(second hand, $2000) how do i know if the 2nd hand replacement will not have the same issue? 3, go to toyota and get the ECM software and torque converter done ($3000 or more) Thanks for taking time to read the tedious paragraph and your advice would be really helpful. Cheers!
