  1. Hey, do I need a wiring harness to get my pioneer headunit to work, I read somewhere that its not advisable to cut the stock factory plug off and reattach them to the pioneer wiring harness?

Does anybody know where to get them if I need them????

Or does anybody know if the speaker wires behind the headunit have something to identify which speaker they are (left front etc?)

  2. This week I'll be doing the same as Azza, but Im gonna do it on the new 07 Corolla just in case someone else out there wants to know, so when me and my Boss are installing it I'll take plenty of happy snaps for yas, and hopefully someone will find it helpful.

P.S This will also include a useful adapter that will make a single din CD player + single din storage pocket fit into the existing mould around the factory headunit.

  3. Thanks for the advice, but i've opted to just replace the Headunit now instead of later.

I'll be sure to post pics when my beast is done. As I have just ordered a Pioneer 5950 headunit to replace the factory headunit (Which doesnt even have 1 RCA output!) and I also got a single din storage pocket to go underneath. I was scared it wouldn't fit, but Maroochy Car Sound gave me a side adapter which will make the new headunit and pocket fit perfectly! then my Fuison 300W amp will power my 400W 12" Fusion Sub, and things will be pumpin!

here's my 1 minute MS paint diagram (its more sad than funny, but thats what makes it funny lol)

  4. Thanks again for the help, the distribution block im gonna get is really small, it doesnt have multiple fuses in it as I already have one near the battery.

Your ideas are all good, but Im not doing it right now, Im just soley working on the head unit replacement and amp installation. So its really easily to put a distribution block in later.

But thanks D_ice, you really are the electric's guy like everyone says.

  5. Thanks for info, but im gonna stick with my original idea as it doesn't void my warrenty if I F**k up, but I shouldn't as I am very good at electronics (and my Dad is a Sparke), its just this is my first automotive good and i wanted some alternatives and info, so thanks everyone, I'll post pics as soon as I complete it :)

But I am gonna have a distribution block then off that my amp and neons, so ill use the one fuse near the battery

  6. Hi I was getting my Amp installed today and we found that I needed a line converter to convert the stereo wires into RCA leads for the Amp.

I was wonder as I have a double bin factory Headunit, how easy would it be to get a new single din headunit with a tray underneath? I noticed on the side of the headunit there was a bracket which bolted it in the the car, and was wondering if that would come off and attach to a new headunit and tray easily?

Your wise help will be much appriciated :)

p.s I'll try and get a pic when we try again in the next couple of days

  7. Yeah I have a Graphite Corolla with Blue neons in the front and back floor areas with a Green neon going in the boot to match my Fusion Sub and amp (which is going in today :yahoo: )

I have heard of running it off an acc wire, but I wont to do this:

  8. Hi all, I have a 2007 Corolla (Auris) and I have 4 Blue 12" neons connected to a 4 socket cigerette lighter expander.

I am looking on the net for tips and how to's to run a power cable from the car battery to a Power Distribution Block and then attach the 4 neons to that, and then attach another neon to it in a few months.

I was wondering if any1 knows if I need specific gauge wiring from the battery to the distribution block.

And if anyone has a Power Distribution block to show a pic of what it looks like cos I find one but the guy says it wont work for what I won't it for, but its the one they have on the net? Please :help: me

    Thanks,

    The Hammer
