ok its official.. this car actually goes better with boost leaks h34r: think i blew out the gasket on the supercharger outlet again.. i only had cork gasket so i used it temporarily just to test my theory that the leak was causing the high idle.. so now i need to fix that.. transfer the car into my name and pay for insurance lol so much bloody ***** at one time! grrr

ok i resealed the supercharger outlet and it fixed the idle! :) did the ABV mod did an oil change with penrite HPR30 and ryco filter changed the thermostat and changed housing to one in better condition

lol thanks Damo. im fairly confident ill have it running smoothly enough tonight to enjoy her and then ill continue on ironing out the minor bugs.. . like the pathetic fuel economy.. 200kms to a tank!!!!

yeah it does need ALOT of TLC but i do have 2 x ae82 twincams and plenty of parts to fix her up! just need some spare time. the supercharger clutch pulley must have failed so the previous owner has spot welded it together to keep it engaged constantly haha!

went on a cruise with an STI wrx 02 ford xr6 turbo skyline R34 gtst and an S14 200sx all slightly worked. got to the end of my street and realised my speedo cable wasnt plugged in. so i fixed that and we drove to a car wash where we waited for one of the boys to arrive. my windscreen wipers were not doiung a good job and when i looked into it.. i haddent tightened up the 3 10mm bolts around each wiper haha so i did them up. . then doing a uturn within the car wash i hear clunk and a grinding noise LOL i thought i did the box.. ends up being the left drive shaft shattering. so 2 mates went to their workshop to get tools and another 2 came to my house to get a shaft. under the shelter and light of the car wash bay i jacked the car up and remover the wheel. lossened the bolts and then we changed the shaft haha! we had no gear box oil so we re used the old stuff and used automatic transmission fluid to fill it up. went to maccas and ate. then 5 minutes into our trip home i come to take off at a set of lights and the car wouldnt go. turns out my shaft popped out from the gearbox side :S so we got it back in and made sure it stayed. and i drove home with no gearbox oil haha.. i dont know why it popped out but ill look into it during the day its boosting to 10 PSI but i know theres a leak or two and theres also a vac leak. on idle it sits at 14psi on my gauge. the car idles very high maybe 2grand. the reason the car was so jerky was because the TPS wasnt screed in! and its half ripped apart! ill have to replace it and tune it the workshop ;) munched! :) the souviners some of the other partys on the cruise

and how the car looks now since i have had the car i have done quite a bit of work *created my own fused an switched circuit for instrumental lights as there seems to be a cable fault *replaced the whole dash with an undamaged un molestered item *put twincam stockers on with new rubber. *changed bucket seats which were mounted on BLOCKS OF WOOD! to twincam seats. *replaced windscreen wiper mechanism *GHEY CANNON has been removed!.. the flange just before it had been removed and the cannon had been welded on. i cut it up and pulled it off to find the CAT had been punched out. i replaced it with the standard cat back off Daisy the old car. *replaced drive shaft and box oil *replaced thermostat and radiator for safe measure

this is how i got it.. 2 fuse boxes wtf :S who can pick whats wrong with that super charger pulley :P ?

hey all, picked this up a couple weeks ago with plans of neatening it up and working the little nugger.. took it straight to Jason. .(GATFXGT) to seek his tick of approval.. which i have since gained seems to have ALOT of problems as it was a very dodgy install. the car idles extremely high and the c52 gearbox isnt helping in the wet.. iv since learnt to only take off in 2nd gear with very light acceleration haha. needs endless amount of work. the interior is terrible and the wiring is a mess. needs new brakes all round and some bolt ons keep your eyes on this spot! i drive a v6 3.6 bombawhore for work everyday. i lined it up with my bro in my car.. i couldnt even keep up with my rolla on the straights thats how slow this bloody vz is. i drove the omega but... really big improvement!

my 4a knows not the meaning of oil :P maintenance.. i open the bonnet once every few months.. if that.. the car only gets driven on weekends.. sometimes for a month straight it just sits there . . company cars rock! :)

have them powder coated red with a black dish :)

yeah i used 4-2-1 extractors as they are a bit better for low down torque 4-1 design is better for high rpm revs and HP how many kms is yours on.. ? mines racked up almost 300,000 LOL i wont let the motor come out till it hits the big300. and ill be very happy to confess that i couldnt kill my 4age. :P

yes well a good H/G is a must.. when i replace the water pump ill get a genuine thermo stat and radiator cap.. at the same tie ill have the radiator unblocked.. (if i source an ae101 radiator its even better) just so im 100% sure my cooling system is working well.

light flywheel was already on the list ;) bigport cams change all the seals so i dont have leaks airfilter and extractors are already done if for any reason i dont trust the head gasket.. while the head is off ill send it off to be rebuilt and she can run llike that untill im ready to go all out on her. im getting the ae111 rear brakes to install maybe next week. :)

hey champ you have done a great job! you should be a cheapskate and get yourself some bigport cams they make a bit of difference and id just be careful with your flywheel as they become dangerous when they have been lightened.. some cases they rip apart and they can easily take someones leg off. its happened

haha i love the torque less wonders :P so you have read billzilla's notes havent you :P when i get a smallport im just doing minor tweaks to it and dropping it in. next year a full rebuild and turbo conversion is taking place and iv started sourcing the parts already.. (thats why i have set up most of the suspension and brakes etc) should be seeing well over 200kw ATW luckily i have many friends that will look after me :)

hey mate i have a bit of knowledge on the 4age, the bluetop bigport came with a 3 rib block that is quite weak but the REDTOP bigport (as i have are much stronger) that said i am using a smallport for the very reason you stated above. they have oil squirter's and the oil feed to head is internal rather then external.. i have toyed with the idea of using a bigpport head on a smallport block but i am not to sure. i will most probably use a smallport head thanks tofu

just a quick update. upgraded to 2X pioneer 12" 305's soon to buy a new response amp and 6x9's when i make a parcel tray. looks like im getting anew job with much better pay.. if i do i have promised myself a smallport in the next few months ;)

Tell me about it! lol the heads ticking valve steam seals are gone the rings are gone the thrust bearing and clutch are on the way out cv is knocking and she runs heaps rich but i still get 400-480 km to a 50L tank with hard driving and for a motor that came stock 88kw at the fly.. 68 kw ATW isnt bad lol she still hasnt skipped a beat on me its great

hey guys i have updated the original post. alot has happened since then and alot of wok has gone into her shes slowly starting to become a pretty decent ride she looks pretty stock to cops besides the 15's which is good. i have some original side skirts but i dont think i will be using them
