  1. yeah ive been in a cooper S and they are so much better car.

but you cant really compare a na car with that of a forced inducted car.

but anyways, im a stivo owner myself but...

sportivos are really overrated. i dont want this forum to turn out to be ozhodna which thinks all hondas are the king of the road. sportivos are just a na car with a little punch, nothing really special.

    just my 2cents.

sportivos r abit overrated by us yes, but is underated by others

thats what u get from other car owners"pttttfffff corolla, SIF "

:D pfft, corolla, sif! that was what every body thought when it first came out, esepcially the SSS, always wanna go for a drag... but... 9.5 out of 10 of them would be left behind by the stivo!

nowadays, people dont look at the stivo as a 'corolla' :D

the kws output has been under rated, but i think the stock chassis and suspension has been over rated, since it was originally designed as a corolla :)

  2. Haha yes the Evolution has the potential to get you into a vast amount of trouble in a very short amount of time... Actually took Dad's Evo out for a spin tonight as my 'rolla was low on fuel, it's just an absolute rocket yet so subtle... Definitely speeding ticket territory

Sort of feels a bit wasted on the street though, so I understand your decision

beside the street part... i wont be good enough, as a driver to get the true power out of the evo :)

  3. Being a BMW though it should hold its value right?

Ah well Taijee if you get bored just trade it in for something faster... *cough* EVO *cough*

    Recommended by me ;)

got my hands on an evo 8 earlier :) haha too fast, 130km/hr from one light to the 2nd light *not really that far*... something i can drive real fast, but i am sure i dont have the potential to reveal the true power of that car...

if i am to pick a fast car... evo wont be on top of my list... always been a GTR fan, KING of street racing! YO! RB26!

i think toyota holds the value better... especially sportivo!

i used to be aiming for something that RUNs, but it has been a year or two ago... nowadays just got my mind hooked onto something that people would give the WOW effect and also able to run for a bit when you need it

  4. ok~ picked up the cooper s this morning, and just got home from work...

cooper S has a much more balanced torque output, real power between 3500-6500 rpm, tho not as torquey, stock vs stock, cooper s will sure run a better time, but feels like its slower than a sportivo due to less torque and no LIFT boost... in a straight line, while both cars under 2krpm, both cars would equal, between 2-6k, the supercharger would get a fair bit infront... when the lift kicks in, the stivo might be a car length behind...

handling... i gotta give it 5 stars to da Cooper S... i wouldnt have the balls to run 150km on a non-perfect road with the stivo *stock, with 17" rims, with sumitomo htrz2*, but i did it on the mini tonight and could be pushed further... runnning dunlop SP sports 9000 on all four corners... really amazed me how well it gripped and how fine the suspensions were tuned

i've had some issue with the stivo gear box, redline on first and second gear, occasionally wont be able to upshift, seems like there is something blocking the gear from engaging... happened to my 04 stivo bfore, also to my friend's 05 stivo. and we both got our gear box adjusted from toyota recall

  5. my experience, as i m trying to lose body fat and building my muscles, currently sitting on 73kg

significantly reduce the intake of carbohydrate *i havnt had rice or noodles for the past month or so, considering i am chinese...*

plenty of protein, from soya milk, meat *not fatty ones* etc, and plenty of fibre

keep a regular 3km run at least 3 times a week, along with muscle training...

i lost 4kg in one month... keeping it for another 2 months:D and wen summer comes... hahaha~ gonna love it

i miss my maccas and kfc... as well all the junk foods like the chip + coke...

but again~ its all worth it

  6. some cars are not allowed to be imported, and i think the JDM type R would be one of them too~ to proct the uk version.... #.3~ just like only semiauto mrs were sold, but u can bring in ur own manual one nor get it from da dealer... sux~...

again, i am sure people can get around it by importing it as personal items... dont really know how it wrks tho~

  7. im no honda fan!

but i tell you what i think this one will scream for the price!!!

mazda mps in same price range, golf R32 holden astra VXR costs about the same!!

so its priced well for the power and size of it.

those goodies cost more than 50k~

and i think it will be more than 50k~ coz that amount doesnt include tax in aust etc...

but agian... if you add up the maths, for someone who gets a type r and tune it themselve would prob cost more, and usually stock tuned cars are more refined...

  8. Who says straight line doesn't prove anything, launching (in this case 1-2 lift as well) is very important when it comes to the 1/4 mile drag.....what it doesn't prove is your skills on the circuit.

launching ok yes thats true... but gear shifting? dam its gonna be the next olympic sport the way people on here go on about it!!! its really not that hard to change gears, i dont see why people go on and on like it is the b all and end all of racing.

i see where they are comming from... it really makes a different how precise the gear was changed... a 6 speed auto with the same gear ratio as a 6 speed manual on the same car, the auto will win for 90%of the time... the 10% are the actual pros who can shift better... try giving abit of a wheel spin from 1st to 2nd gear, and shift tipping 8,200rpm, nothing earlier... it's not as easy as it seems... everyone know how to change gears, same as everyone knows how to drive... knowing is different from being good at it...

for say, two drivers that can do the same time on the circuit, the one who launch better would have a way higher chance of winning~ it's not a matter of if it's all about shifting or not, but its just something that we could refine, along with cornering techniques to get a better time~

  9. I think they got the new Type R to pull a staggering 7.7s 0-100 time with a 1/4 mile time of about high 15's if I remember correctly. While Honda say a 6.6s sprint to 100kph.

its a bit hard to believe the new civic r can do 6.6

the old typr r(integra) is a fater car, the new civic typre r is just for looks....

you guys seen the JDM civic type r? those ones aint no pussy... so much differ to the UK version~

  10. Believe it or not, torque is what you feel when your car is accelerating.....

My dads auto CRV feels faster then the sportivo....lol

If your talking about the efficiency of engines in terms of BMP then I can tell you that the S2000 is pretty much first, and believe it or not the 2zzge is around 3rd....just a bit infront of the M3 engine.

Sometimes I wonder, why don't they make a 3L V6 with variable 'lift'. I know that the NSX is one of them, but I'm pretty sure they could produce more then the so called 206kw restriction.

The sportivo does not feel fast at all because of the fact that it doesn't possess alot of torque, but before you know it your well past speed limit. I still find it frightening that once your in lift, the car pulls so much harder, exspecially once you get to 100km/h +

:D i so agree... love the LIFT! it feels like a turbo boost to me hahaha... except in a more natural and controllable way...

yea... so pitty... the gentlement agreement in jap~ 206kws, 280ps... but those cars are actually stock 400ps with a simple changes with the ECU~

  11. This sounds completly false.....I used to own a VS berlina and honestly I don't ever see a corrolla pulling away much from a VS maybe the first 100-200m but then its over unless the guy driving the VS is either a crappy driver or too chicken to go balls to the wall.

The VS I had was supercharged but even the ones I've driven stock standard they are powerful for a "family " car but they can't handle for crap.

they are pretty torquey, but i really dont know how it goes on a straight with the v6, coz i've only laid my hands on an auto that was owned by my friend

  12. You would be suprised about some of the cars a sportivo can beat.

I've seen VX-VY S packs which have like over 150kw get smashed? not sure on power to weight ratio. Also VT SS's and similar commodores

at the same time, i was suprised how far i was behind... from the hsv statesment and fairlady*not z350*, those two were draging... and i was try to catch up abit and see how it went... but i was pretty far behind

and once got picked on by a v6 turbo FPV~ and @.@~ 2 car length behind after right after i got onto my 3rd gear

and of coz, i've had my fun times leaving a non turbo, non modded gts r33 behind, and dusting alot of 2-2.4L sedan hatchbacks~ 2 car lenght infront an EG6 abit after changing into the 2nd gear~

:D and i left behind an Audi A3 Turbo... haha i looked at the driver's face after we dragged~~~~ he seemed pretty ******~

    LIFT! YO!!! 141kws @ 7,200rpm! some real bumpy stuff~

  13. your problem is the tyre pressure. Your not on a race track your on the street drop them back down to about 32 or 34. You'll find they won't wear as quick either.

32/34... i will give that option a pass... it doesnt give that direct feeling :D hehe... but i might drop the rear down to 36 n see how it goes...

i once had all 4 on 36... didnt feel as great

well mate, i'm telling you now the car will continue to hop around cos the pressure is just way way way too high for the street. When im racing my rolla legally, i only up the pressure to 40 cos its all you need. on the street, its so much better to drop it for dozens of reasons. Also, having front/rear different is stupid as well as it will just unbalance a car like the rolla.

34 each... its the way to solve your problem

i got 38 on my parents camry.... all smooth...

does 34 and 36 makes the big differ? because i had it on 36 once... not much differ...

haha... it's scary flooring around corner at 120~ dont know how smooth the road is

lol, all i can say is if you're flooring it around a corner at over 120km/h and you don't know how smooth the road is, then you shouldn't really be going that fast, unless you want to possibly hit a pothole, or a big patch of gravel and lose control etc etc..

    no offence intended ;)

    muahahahahahahahaha

    haha... it would suk balls...

almost rammed the mr2 into the pole before, going around 60 for a corner... tend to e alot of broken glass or maybe sand there... @.@ corner of forest road and croydon road at bexley area... i wonder why cant people clean the place up abit....

  14. i experienced the car not exactly hopping around corners but sliding out like 5cm or so. this was from going around the corner at about 60km/h which was the speed limit and the road was made in sections and one section would be a little higher so it was like a small step on the road. going around a corner like that one with some speed will definatly result in loss of control.

yea... i experienced the same thing... um... a stivo jumping around is abit exaggeratd:)

  16. I know what you're talking about. I would experience the rear hopping out driving to city on the hume highway near enfield/croydon speed camera. There use to be a small speed hump / expansion point but that part of the road has been smoothed out now, so it doesn't happen anymore.

and along princess highway as well... abit past sydney... around a corner... from the city toward hurstville
