  1. i just made the choice the other week - went with the 360... simply because unless you have a 1080i TV, then they're going to look the same on a normal TV... the reason i went for the xbox was the games that are out, the fact its been out longer (so alot of bugs have been ironed out already)...

that and you're going to pay like $400 extra for the PS3, and i dont believe its worth $400 more...

and yeah i agree i think HD DVD will win, even though it looks like bluray is better known (most people dont understand that there's a difference between DVD and HD DVD...)

    m... interesting...

in the market at the moment, there tend to be more blu-ray products than hk dvd

  2. your problem is the tyre pressure. Your not on a race track your on the street drop them back down to about 32 or 34. You'll find they won't wear as quick either.

32/34... i will give that option a pass... it doesnt give that direct feeling :D hehe... but i might drop the rear down to 36 n see how it goes...

i once had all 4 on 36... didnt feel as great

  3. If you have 17" wheels, my guess is that you have 40profile tyres - trying dropping the tyre pressure down by 5psi up front and 8psi at the back. Yes, and slow down!

You could also try thicker sway bars front and rear, that will keep the car more level in the cornings to help it maintain suspension geometry. Besides that, i can't really comment because i don't know your driving style. Unless you're willing to shell out another 20K for a 350Z, you're going to have to adjust your driving style to suit the rolla.

planned to spend that kind of money in about 2 years time :D perhaps a lil bit more for a roadster

  4. I have never found my car 'hopping' through the corners unless I hit an expansion joint on a bridge or unless there really is some bumps in the road itself. Could take your car for a wheel alignment, I have put the specifications up in the workshop area so you can cross-check with whoever is adjusting it. I don't know much about tyres so can't comment on what your using.

sorry about exaggerating it... but you... you got my point... the expansion joints etc....

dont think it's wheel alignment etc... because i manage to happen on the stivos that i've had mh hands on

  5. i guess the first answer is slow down.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the sportivo suspension at all, compared to a lot of cars out on the roads at the moment. its pretty much as good as a standard road car with a torsion beam will get.

Otherwise, there are many many mods u can do to improve the situation if u have the money

yea... slow down is an answer...

but my parents' camry stivo wouldnt need to slow down for such tho... nor the accord euro that i had for a while... er... tried it with my fd's FTO as well, not as visible as the stivo's

:'( and i've got no money for a new set of suspension~

  6. is your suspension stock. what about your wheel size and tyre profile? the stock shocks are pretty well matched to the stock springs. I find them firm but smooth.

i've got a set of 17" Lenso Apex-5 on it... 40psi on each tyres... and the car reallly does jump... tyres are using Sumitomo HTRZ2~ dont know how thick they are

my mate's 04 stivo got the same problem too with everything stock on his one~

  7. have you guys experience this

the stivo would jump around the corner if there is a bump on the road, even a really small one, such as the joints of the road block service... and i realised it only the rear bounces off the road...

in which i find the stock rear suspensions really sux...

i did happened to my MR2 spyder abit before... but not as bad as the stivo... it's scary driving it on a road that you've never driven on it b4, around corner at a speed of 70km/hr+

  9. Of Course, but are you going to pay twice as much for it... If money is no boundary then you are right. But i wont be spending 1k on a gaming console.

but think about it tho... for whatever the PS3 offers... and if you package it up with the 360... the price match would be the same... i am happy with the PS3 as it runs really well on the 1080p~

  10. no moddddds for the ps3 anytime soon... i've been waiting....

and i dont think modding it will be any easy, as you will need to connect online to play, dl etc...

sony can theorically overwrite any software mods by requesting you to update the software version... and able to lock your system from going online n play if you mod it with hardware... xbox 360 has this issue... where u cant get on ms live, if you modded the 360

  11. hey people i still wanna know how i can get my Tom Tom XL to show me speed cameras and red light cameras. do i have to pay for the service or is there another way to get it to show me the cameras?

it's for free... call up tomtom or send them an email for it, and they will send u an email as a reply, with the settings, all you gotta do is to upload it...

but tomtom will take their time... @.@~ took them 2 weeks to send the settings to me

  12. the original spyder was already fun to drive...

i had a spyder beforehand... loved it...

but it was a 5 speed semi auto...

man!! VVTL-i~ LIFT ~! YO>>> the power of 6,000rpm in the spyder would be awesome...

super charge it after...:D and line it up with a lotus....

  13. ... a v6 into the spyder...

i think it's too big for it...

would need to rework the whole chassis for the v6 to fit it, and it will affect the perfect 50:50 layout on the spyder...

super charging, or even a turbo is be a better option than a transplant

  14. hi all!

I know they use the 1ZZE engine in the MR2, but do they have a version with VVTL-i?

Would a transplant job for a 2ZZE into an MR2 be really pricey?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, it would be pricey. You have to drive it hard to get your moneys worth :P Which would be scary

First off, to my knowlege there is no production mr2 with the 2ZZGE.

But in Japan this is a popular conversion. The 2zzge pretty much bolts straight into the MR, as it shares the same bottom end dimenisions of the 1ZZE (so ive been told).

Look at the 05 lotus with the 2ZZ-GE, it is also a midship. Lotus claims 0-100 around 5.5sec and the 1/4 mile in a mid 13. This car weighs a mere 875kg with a full tank of fuel. If you take the MR2 and are brave enough to drive it hard, i think its worth the cash to do the conversion - It weighs a little more than the lotus, and has the same drive train loss (minimal for RWD) and shares the same engine and gearbox. So i theory, it would hammer. I have seen a MRS in a best motoring touge battle demolish the Drift King's Tuned AE86 around corners and srtaight line speed (and for those who watch the best motoring series would know not many cars can beat Tsuchia in his Sprinter).

    Cost??

Well, what do you need for this recipie?

These are estimates only (I was going to do this at one stage)

    2ZZ-GE Power plant - 3.5k

    6-Speed Trans - 1.5k

Labour (3 full days) - $90 per hour

This is my dream track car :D

are we talking about the MR2 spyder here???

if this is the case... keep the gear box! because the semi auto 6 speed(late 2002+ model) is pretty fun to drive around...

lotus uses the 2zze and the same gear box, but they super charged it.... thats where the 5.5 secs from

  15. /me digs thread up

Hey, my 06 rolla only came with one key (only transponder) and one seperate remote. I've been quoted around $110 - $130 to get the key replaced (another 30 or so for the remote). Don't care about the remote as I'll be getting an alarm and will get two new ones with that.

Are any of you guys that have access to keys in SA by any chance? Hell even if I buy the key from someone you know I'd feel happier, even if it's the same price. The markup on them must be obscene!

the normal corolla keys are cheaper to replace, as it doesnt have all the security features that the stivo has... the stivo uses the immobliser and central locking system by Denso...

and yea... for a replacement key, it will cost you $300ish from toyota... and it's considered to be cheap... because the mini cooper's spare key cost $800

  16. Take the 360 back and buy a PS3. I had a 360 and just sold it the other week, it didn't have any issues but since buying the PS3 I compared them both and the 360 just didn't make the cut. The PS3 is a far better gaming console then anything on the market at the moment. 5 stars to PS3!

    :D

    give me 5~ haha

i got it since it came out :D~ awesome!!!!

but :( they are putting extras in for free now... like an extra controller and 2 games...

i got none of those goodies when i got mine

  17. why not the ps3? :D

put it this way... fair enough that the 360 are selling for cheaper, however doesnt come with the standards such as wifi, hdmi out for 1080i, as well doesnt support either blue ray or HD DVD... if you bundle the things up, the price would be similar or even higher than the ps3 :)

its funny with the 360 design issues... they rushed the xbox and screwed it... now again on the 360 hehehe

    go sony.!!!!!!!!!
