  1. Hello, I have a 2014 Kluger Grande. The power tailgate is working temperamentally. I've checked the glove box switch and rear hatch window but the tailgate works sometimes and sometimes gives me a long beep and unlocks the tailgate but doesn't move. Heaps of content on the Highlander in the US, some sort of class action going but nothing like that here.

I'm at the point of changing the power to manual struts, anyone have any success fixing this problem or replacing the power struts with manual ones?

    Thanks.

  2. thanks guys for the input, i think im going to change the rims first den audio system, i got spare set at home (DC5R) rims, white and the rola is white, i think it'll look nice...i was thinking about the offset tho., the teggies are +60, i was wondering if that will be too aggressive or not,

it's not that the offset will be too aggressive or not, they may not fit. brake may scrap the wheel.

  3. i guess i'm being way too picky. first new car i've owned, so i have the tendency to say everything should be perfect.. then again it 12 months old now, wow time goes quick.

service from toyota is good enough, hey as long as i can keep paying $120 for servicing i'm happy.

  4. hey buddy,

    thanks

I can't so to speak "hook" you up with a good deal, but there's a bunch of traders from forums that are reputable. pm me if you want their details.

  5. there is a recommendation in my mag article ..... go have a chat to Hakkan @ performance exhaust centre in northmead ......

i double that. he knows what he's doing. bit of a grumpy fellow.

if u go down der assuming u knw better and dictating wat u think is best then yeah thats wat i'd expect from him ........ pretty natural human behavior ..... how would u react if sum1 turned up off the street n tried to teach u ur trade ....... that tends to be half the guys that show up @ his shop ......

go anywhere with that attitude and i'd be suprised if you don't get a spanner throw at you :o

i think hak was grumpy because he had 4 customers all saying "I have a 9am booking", i'd blame the assistant

  6. ok, finally got my 20k service done.

I told the serviceman about the noisy tappets and he said he'll look into it, but did mention that it could be the injectors. so i did get the injectors cleaned in the service as it is "recommended" every 12 months. i picked up the car and was told that there is nothing above the norm with my tappets. so i thought it was my injectors, started the car and popped the hood and what do you know, i have a cricket going off like crazy in my engine bay. i didn't bother taking it up with the service center as all the mech's went home and only office staff remained.

If my tappets are what they are meant to sound like i'll chuck the rolla in the bin tomorrow. my '89 civic was quieter that this.

  7. DIY'ing is not that hard, it just takes time and a little know how.

i'm 1/2 way doing my own subs and amp off the standard headunit (taken 30mins so far), just stuck with the remote wire because i can't seem to access the cigarette lighter. i'm the process of finding a new source of 12v.

i've decided to make sure that no wires are exposed what so ever with the amp under the passenger seat, all wiring is under the carpet or behind covers. probably take max 2hrs

asif pay $200 + for audio job like that.
