This TSB was just recently released for the US market. I don't know if the procedure will work on your car, but it might be worth a try: http://mojavetrail.webng.com/T-SB-0097-09B...thMicVolume.pdf Thanks, I'll give this a try and let you know how it goes before I drop the car off on Wednesday at Toyota for other warranty issues (Noisy steering wheel/column vibration and exceedingly low speed when turning).

Hi guys, thanks for the input. I'm afraid the microphone is hard fixed/integrated with the Toyota Link Control Panel above the revision mirror. This is a centralised position which makes perfect sense, to enable either driver or passenger in the front of the vehicle to converse. I'm taking the car to Rockhampton Toyota next week for a noise in the steering column, and I'll be sure to ask the same question of them about the microphone. Please anticipate an update from me as to whether or not Toyota have a fix. Sincerely, John alias- Presara

Can anyone shed some light on this issue I'm having. I've always had to speak, what is in my view louder than I normally would when making a call in any car using Blue Tooth to allow for road noise, e.t.c. However my Presara's Blue Tooth feature is really starting to get the better of me. Whenever I make or receive a call the person on the other end can not hear me unless I raise my voice. At the end of the day raising one's voice is do-able, but in reality, shouldn't the vehicles inbuilt microphone sensitivity be factory set to work perfectly at normal voice, just as you would if you were speaking to someone in the passenger seat? I know you can adjust the speaker volume amidst a call by adjusting the volume level on the steering wheel, but can someone tell me how to increase the microphones sensitivity (if that's even possible)? NOTE: I tried using a different mobile phone; not that I thought the phone was ever the problem, and sure enough the problem still presented itself, so it's got to be the car. :(

No doubt you can buy it from Spare Parts. The part number on the manual you will need to quote them is as follows: 01999-06009

I've got this sometimes but actually the seat belt, not the seat - I just pull the seat belt lock up and ok. BH I thought i had this problem at one stage as well. It turned out to be the seat belt. The buckle is not sitting up top of the belt cleanly; instead its at an agle resting on the seat as well as the pillar which results in the rattle noise.

I was a passenger in an Aurion AT-X just yesterday and I thought I'd turn up the fan to test the "Leaf Sound" a number of us are experiencing and hey presto there it was. I honestly thought that my car had picked up a leaf, but thanks to you guys telling me its afetcing your cars aswell it now seems the noise is common place. In both my Presara and the AT-X I tested the noise only originates from the centre air vent. Is this the case for all of you encountering the "Leaf Noise" problem?

I have to say my January 07 Presara with just 8,000km on the clock is proving to be a real pleasure to own and drive. I've not encountered anynoise from my dash after leaving the car in the sun for hours in the heat of the day. Mind you the cars not 100% though. - I've had minor condensation in both front headlamps, but the moisture evaporated entirely and I've no means of showing a dealer that there's anything wrong, so I'm just keeping a close eye on them. - I also have an anoying noise which I believe to be coming from the roof lining. It creaks or cracks whenever I enter or leave a drive way which is at an angle higher than the roadway. My driveway is accessed by one of those curved gutters which you need to approach at an agle in any car else the impact of two wheels at one time even at 4-5km/hr is too harsh. - I do find that if i turn the air conditioning on with the fan at maximum the centre air vent tends to make a minor rattle noise, but i suspect I've somehow collected a leaf in the air duct fom parking the car under a tree. I'll mention it to Toyota in due course and I guess I'll find out then, but like i said its only noticable with the fan on full blast which i need only do for a minute or two after leaving it in the hot sun for an hour or two. Clearly these problems aren't something I'm up in arms about, but they will definately make the list when I finally bring the car in for it's first service. I just cannot be bothered going through the hassel of leaving the car with a dealer over minor issues like these so I'll wait another 6 months probably before I reach the 15,000km mark to have the issues tended to. As for Toyota quality and reliability, I have to say it rates really well with me. My father only buys Toyota's for his staff as company cars and they always seem to get neglected especially once they get +2 or 3 years in age. I've driven all of them at some stage and they never seem to miss a beat. The oldest and worst is a 2003 Avalon on the fleet which is used to travel interstate regualarly (often with a trailer in tow), its fast approaching 350,000km and I'm astounded with how quitet the car is in every respect even the engine at idle. The car has never broken down to date despite being poorly maintained and I doubt very much other makes would prove as reliable. I regret your having so much trouble with your Aurion, but stick it out I'm sure once the issues have been tended to you'll come to appreciate just how good it really is. Best of Luck.

As a former motor mechanic I whole hartedly agree with all the posts above. FWD is not for towing, especially long distances. It's especially dangerous in poor weather conditions with a load on the back!!! I'm affraid Aurion (or anything FWD for that matter) is not for you.

I Will Make The Comment that Shell V-Power Racing (100 Octane) Shell V-Power (98 Octane) Just to clear it up... i had a very in depth conversation with a guy today who was trying to say that there is no difference..... which i kindly pointed out the 20cents per litre price difference, which happened to drop his jaw a little... hehe And i notice no signifigant difference between Caltex Vortex 98 and Shell V-Power (98 Octane)... But since i hit the 30000km mark ive been running the car on nothing but V-Power Racing (100 Octane) and the results are remarkably different. (See Below from spreadsheet) V-Power Racing 729/7.2/Highway V-Power Racing 751/7.1/Highway V-Power Racing 699/7.9/City V-Power Racing 739/7.0/Highway V-Power Racing 681/8.2/Highway Here's a dashshot (sorry .. its mobile phone quality) [ Just how much can one expect to pay for V-Power Racing. I found that todays price at Shell Rouse Hill was $1.269/L for "V-Power" can i expect to pay another $0.20/L extra for V-Power Racing

my new aurion train horn system lawlll :P this is what we need in victoria. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJwcR21VLk Now that's a horn - if that doesn't wake em up from their day dreaming Sunday Driving Slumber - NOTHING WILL
-
My former car was a VY Calais and my wifes car is a current model VW Golf. The horns on these two car's sound like their off a Mack Truck compared to the Aurion. Maybe I'm all too used to a ballsy car horn but when its needed you want it to be noticed. Not that you have to sit on the horn to get the desired effect before someone changing lanes "without using mirrors" almost side swipes your car (which is what almost happened to me today) .
-
Is it just me or is the Aurion's car horn ineffective? It sounds weak and wussy, like it belongs in a girly car - not an Aurion. Has anyone felt the same way and if so have you already changed it? I'm seriously contemplating installing an air horn... Anyone got a better idea for this minor but very necessary (in my book) mod?

Well it's official, the 5x beeps was the Toyota Link System all along. Apparently it's Toyota's way of bugging you every time you either start or stop the car so that you ultimately make contact with them as i did. I cannot be 100% certain about the volume of the noise, but i'm quitely confident that in the last two or three days the beeps actually got louder. It may be that i was simply getting very tired of the noise although i can honestly say it seemed louder. I thought perhaps the level of urgency was being lifted by Toyota Link to make contact. In my case there was a technical difficulty requiring a reset of the Toyota Link system as though it was being done for the very first time. I had to re-enter all my particulars as well as have a customer care consultant enter the vehicles particulars into the system for me as the vehicle was "not defined" when i loged inot my Toyota Link account via the web. Toyota Link then had me sit in the car and call them via the Toyotal Link System for confirmation and reactivation. This included the remote unlocking of the vehicle. I'm pleased to say that my car is back to normal now and that there wasn't any real drama . For owners of Toyota Link equiped vehicles it's worth knowing that the system may require reactivation in the event of a flat battery, battery disconnection or replacement. Rest assured Toyota always knew where the car was and its status (including it's odometer reading) which i can verify by looking up the vehilces history when i log into my Toyota Link account via http://www.toyota.com.au/toyotalink The one thing I'm suprised about is why Toyota Link didn't simply call me instead of annoying me to the point that i called them....
