If you're not tracking it, then a baffled sump isn't needed.  Quite a few people have used the 1ZZ sump instead (which is baffled to a degree, but nowhere near as much as the Moroso one) but it may require a little fettling around the pickup tube to get it to fit properly (opinions/experience seems to vary in regards to this).  A lot cheaper than the Moroso though

Well, I would like to take it out on a race track one day, so I that is my reason for getting a Moroso sump.

Thats a hell of a lot of money, for what gain, not going to go any quicker

The gain is better reliability and that the aftermarket oil sump is baffled. The stock OEM sump for the 2ZZGE is NOT baffled which is a problem because oil would move to one side, causing the oil pump to suck up nothing but air.

  3. My Toyota Celica SX DOES NOT have any Climate Control lights and I have tried ordering them online and they had none in stock!

Part NO. is 8402020040 BTW and also comes with some sort of circuit board, but I really only want the globes and sockets. Could someone please help me out somehow?

    Thanks.

  4. Yesterday I have been in the process of fitting in my AEM Cold Air Intake, and I seem to be stuck on the VSV FOR Canister Closed Valve part.9C3B0B81-1346-46CF-BD19-0703817E3A68.thumb.jpeg.a011110acd8c6135737df42d18af1cf4.jpeg7BEFD2A6-2588-41B9-8C50-FFE15FA7005A.thumb.jpeg.e95f44d65807844e3d7339da8c268c17.jpeg

And below is my Cold Air intake without the VSV for CCV attached on the mounting tab, because I could not find it anywhere in the engine bay. And so I put on a vacuum cap on the nipple of the inlet pipe where the  10” hose is meant to be placed.

If I can’t find the VSV for CCV, is it mainly because only the American versions of the 7G Celica (GT and GTS) have them? Or otherwise, where is the VSV for CCV in the Celica SX?

  5. So, I got myself an AEM Cold Air Intake system for my 2000 Toyota Celica SX, but I am curious to know if I am allowed to have this mod on while I’m on my Green Ps.

The VicRoads Guide to modification for motor vehicles says: ‘air filter (including pod-type air filters) on EFI vehicles if there are no other intake modifications, all sensors remain in place and the filter is a dry (non-oiled) type’ is classed as an ‘Approved Modifications’ and then someone on this Forum Page: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1772537 said:

“IN Victoria, it states that P Plates cannot drive engines with modifications to improve performance.

That is open to interpretation. Technically you are modifying the air intake system, not the engine.”

So, I’m basically modding the intake system, and of course the exhaust, and nothing else. So, is it illegal for P platers like me in Victoria to give my Celica those two Mods?

Also, why 4 lock nuts per wheel?  The ZZT231 is 5-stud, so you'd either run 4 normal alloy nuts and 1 lock nut per wheel, or 5 lock nuts per wheel if you're really pedantic/paranoid.

Oops, I didn’t word the entire statement right. Disregard that. I was meant to say four lock nuts for four wheels, so sorry to confuse you.

1 goes up and down the other goes left and right to find out better it is best done in a dark area on a wall

Ok, thanks, but it when I was adjusting the bottom bolt, the lights seemed as if though it was doing the same thing as what the top bolt does.

  8. Today, I've been learning how to adjust my low beam lights in my 2000 Toyota Celica SX. The top one basically moves the low beam vertically right? So, what about the other adjuster bolt below? (Circled in blue) Does anyone here know what the bottom bolt does? When I fiddled around with the bottom bolt, it seemed like it was doing the same thing as the top one.IMG_2578.thumb.jpg.7df07f8e4b0786173cc1ca47ddc50e0a.jpg

  9. Hi, I am thinking about getting an aftermarket rear spoiler for my 2000 Toyota Celica SX. Want to know what one would be the best cheap one from eBay (without leading to getting defected) to start with before upgrading to the expensive APR GTC-200 or GTC-300 wings which can be either universal or specific-built ones that will have to be shipped from the United States. I've measured around where the stock spoiler stands which was about 36 inches (93cm).

If you're having trouble locating a brand one, you could always get an exhaust shop to do a custom CAI which will likely end up being the same price or even less and you can have it how you want. Just be sure to keep the intake size either 2.75" all round or if you use 3", have a 2.75" reducer at the MAF sensor so it doesn't cause issues.

    What does 'CAI' stand for?

I'm just covering my ***** in case there are little differences between US- and Aus-market 2ZZs, things like emissions packages etc.  For instance, 03+ US-market Celicas had drive-by-wire throttles (like the Aus-market 1ZZs on the facelift ZZE Corollas) whereas all Aus-market 2ZZs stayed cable-throttle.

Okay, thanks. But would it still be worth buying AEM intake system from the States if I can't find one here in Australia, or should I go with Injen?

An intake for the US-spec GTS _should_ fit an Australian-delivered Celica (SX or ZR) since they both use the 2ZZGE engine (the GT in the 'states has the 1ZZ).  There might be some slight sensor differences however

What do you mean by ‘slight sensor differences’?

And what should I do to fix up the slight sensor difference issue?

  13. Hello everybody, I own a 2000 Toyota Celica SX and I am just wondering what would be the best cold air intake system. I've looked around across the internet and I think I want to go with either an AEM or Injen. But I can't find any AEM filters on any Australian carmod websites. Yes, I know there are AEM intake systems for the Celica, but they fit mainly on the GT-S Celica which is an American trim of the Celica. Any tips and advice? Thanks.

P.S I am very new at modding my Celica btw.
