  1. I am having some challenges with my fuel usage on my new car and am keen to see if you can help, please. I have been told its normal and to watch it and take videos for next time (which I will do) however it isn’t very acceptable and leaves me with no trust in my actual fuel usage and therefore I can’t rely on my gauges or use all the gauges as they get locked out. I am now on my 3rd tank which has a fuel tank capacity of 43 litres and I have been averaging about 4.7 litres per 100 Km so far. I fill the car and the distance to empty shows on average (so far) between 900km - 1000 km. That’s ok. When I start driving, I always use a fresh trip meter to track usage. As the distance drops on the distance to empty the increasing distance on the trip meter never matches or aligns. The distance to empty drops a lot faster that distance travelled. I know this can be expected but as you will see the difference is really substantial. When I have travelled just over 600km on the trip meter the distance to empty has dropped and is showing about 65 km to empty (down from 900/1000km). This is about when the low fuel light has come on (based on the last two tanks of fuel) and a message also appears in the menu cluster saying low fuel. Once the low fuel message comes up, I can no longer use the menu cluster at all and cannot scroll through to use any of the other options i.e. music, compass, settings etc. I have tried using the back arrow and the Ok button and also the up and down arrows on the steering wheel - All to no avail. This has forced me to fill up so I can reuse my cluster menu. On both occasions now I have only been able to add 32 litres to refill the tank. The car manual says the fuel light should come on at about 6.5 litres, mine is coming on with approx. 12 litres left in the tank (over 200km of possible travel), also the book makes no mention of the low fuel message coming on the cluster and how to remove/hide it. So, in a nutshell, the car gauges are not currently reliable and the car is only allowing me to effectively use ¾ of a tank before all the lights/ messages pop up and I am forced to fill up to be able to use my dash menu cluster. Keen for any insights or solutions please.
