  1. Speaking from experiance I have 130kw at the wheels

    Intake injen

My own ported headder (Send me yours and I will do the for $100 + Post)

Exhaust 2.5 inch with blitz exhaust

    Fidanza flywheel

    Hondata gasket

Camcon changing the cam degrees gave a big gain

    This got me 127kw

I had to replace the cat with a high flow magnaflow to get 130kw

My next dyno should be more than 130kw as I replaced the blitz axel back with my own custom set-up with magnaflow muffler.

  2. BC are very hard for daily driving, they are cheep and you pay for what you get.

Friend has a set and even when the shock is adjusted to the softest the car still bounces everywhere.

I would get some decent shocks inserted into your factory struts with 250kg springs in front and rear.

  3. as has been stated the rears do hardly any work

its all about the fronts ...... im pushing more than twice the power to the wheels (250kw @ wheels) than a stock sportivo (105kw @ wheels) and all ive had to do with regards to the rears is upgrade the pads n even then all i did was go the TRD pads.

The fronts is a whole other kettle of fish with the big boys needing to come out to pull up the big power

Nice where did you get that set and how much?

  4. Hi can you guys give some opinion for me?

    If you have a 2001 Runx VVTL-i

Will you put a 5-zigen N1 muffler or a xForce twin loop muffler?

Car is for daily drive, but I will rev my engine when necessary =P

    Please give me some opinion

Twin loop may be a little quieter which side does your current system exit from?

  5. anyone has any idea what are the spring rates for stock corolla springs and tte lowering springs?

    thanks.

Factory is 170kg front and rear I would go no higher than 250 kg front and rear for a daily drive

I run 300kg front and 250kg in the rear I find it a little harsh, also depends on your shocks.

  6. Also to keep the air cold a Hondata gasket was fitted to the intake manifold. This was better is stop go driving a noticeable difference with something so simple.

can your explain the above please, i'm not sure what is involved.

    whitestivo

Hondata gasket goes between the head and the intake manifold, keeps the intake nice and cold.

  7. those header porting pics came from Newcelica.org right? theres alot more involved than just neatening up a few bits and peices correct flow through the collector is essential... and making a mess of it is very easy.

not saying you're doing it wrong at all.. but i'd love to see a few pics of some headers after you ported them to compare with say a CES item, or a Head 2 Head ported header.

Yes you are right those ones in the picture are a bit of a mess I should take some pic's of the ones I do all I can say is Im a perfectionist!

Mine are shaped different not so sharp and I also modify another part which I have not seen anyone else do.

  8. Went to the dyno modifications since the last dyno are

    - Flywheel

    - Injen Air intake

    - 2.5 mid pipe

Made 121 kw at the wheels (Blue line) after a small amount of tuning with the camcon I reached 127kw (Red line)

    ScannedImage.jpg

Found these wheels at the local wrecker, nice and light SSR Sprint heart cp-f

  9. Wanted to change the mid section to 2.5 inch after the cat, the factory resonator was 20 inch. I decided a 22 inch resonator which should keep it just as quiet. I did not want to make the car any louder. Resonator was custom built by me.

    CIMG0148.jpg

Next the exhaust was built from the cat back using 2.5 stainless steel

mandrel bent, then coated with ceramic paint.

  10. I made 121KW with just a TRD CAI, ITG Filter, CES ported headers and CES catback system. Stock ECU nothing touched internally....

I would of thought with replacement/piggy back ECU and the above mods 130+ would be a fairly achievable mark.

Im almost there with 127kw, I know that when I sort the rest of my exhaust out I should be over 130kw

Currently there as a bad join going from 2.5 inch mid ppe to a JDM Blitz which is only 60mm also the blitz muffler at the rear has about a 40mm hole where the exhaust gas's go.

Have some more tricks up my sleeve which should get me closer to mid 130kw

  11. Thought I would share my corolla and what I have done to it and progress

Its a real sleeper and I like to keep it that way!

The car was imported from Japan with a blitz axil back exhaust, blitz filter, earthing kit & KYB suspension.

    CIMG0036.jpg

    CIMG0037.jpg

Took the car for a dyno to see what it could do the mighty 2zzge pumped out 106kw at the wheels

    Suspension

The KYB's seemed a little soft removed them and discovered one was faulty. Had them rebuilt with Bilstein's great improvement!

    Extractors

Pulled out extractors and got to work with the die grinder shaping the ports and using a special die grinder to shape the collectors. Car went back on the dyno and produced nearly 110kw at the wheels. If anyone is interested in having there header ported get in touch with me I have done a few 2ZZGE's now.

    Intake

An injen cold air intake was sorced from the states which looks and sounds amazing! The car did not feel like it made a lot more power as I already had a Blitz air filter but I could feel an improvement up top. When vvti-l kicked in it sounds way better than your local Honda!

    CIMG0034.jpg

    CIMG0033.jpg

Also to keep the air cold a Hondata gasket was fitted to the intake manifold. This was better is stop go driving a noticeable difference with something so simple.

    P1010040.jpg

    Drivetrain

I fitted a Fidanza lightweight weighing in at 7.5 lbs the lightest one on the market. The quality was amazing and way lighter compared to factory. The car did not feel difficult to drive and acceleration was greatly improved. Revved much quicker all the way to 8200 RPM!

    P1010041.jpg

    Camcon

Fitted camcon fuel and cam controller

    CIMG0038.jpg

  12. hehe nice job!

whats the camcom btw? i've got no idea what it is.

Camcon is a fuel and vvti controller

I am able to add or remove fuel every 500 rpm and advance the vvti cam every 500rpm (Not the lift changeover)

I asked one of the guys over at 'autojoy' in Parra whether the camcon would work on corolla sportivos - he goes "only for the sportivos made in Japan, they don't work for the ones made in SA". They tried installing one once, didn't work. Shows how much they know...

So it would work for an 05 sportivo?

Yea I have a JDM corolla works fine on mine.

I cant see why camcon would not work on other 2zzge engines. They use the same sensors (Air flow and cam angle sensor)

Camcon is just modifying the signal from the engine nothing to do with the ECU.

They work on American Matrix/Corolla and JDM celica

  13. good work... makign the same power as mine...

you should be able t smoothe out that lift transition more though... but i am not sure you can adjust the iginition timing with a camcon??????

Thanks what mods have u done?

My exhaust had a bad join and was leaking, I have a few more things ready to go so Im hoping to get more power next time.

I got these results with about 30min on the dyno dont want to spend too much on tune as it will only need doing again soon.

The camcon cant do ignition, not sure if there is much hp gain on ignition

I'm running Emanage Ultimate + Vmanage

ported headers, custome 2.5" exhaust with Varex Muffler, TRD CAI with ITG foam Pod.

when you tweak the timing you can cure the shocking lurch in the changeover point.

Plenty of gains to be made from tuning the ignition and injectors... bee down that road MANY times.

edit: i still need to tune 7500 RPM and up... so i am aiming for 130 ish at the wheels.

I was thinking about getting the Emanage Ultimate as I want to raise the rev limit as you can see im still making good power up there

8500 would be good. But only after I do my oil pump. Sounds like I could get some more power with the ignition too.
