  1. Hi fellow Prado owners! My Prado is nearly 10 years old (MY2013) and I'm only just now finding out about the DPF. Fortunately, I've never had an issue with it, but my dad just told me he had to have his DPF cleaned out (at great cost). He put it down to not having done much motorway driving in recent months so it wasn't cleaning itself. Anyway, what I was wondering was what (if anything) do any of you do to ensure your DPF gets a proper regeneration. How long is necessary to travel at high speed and how often to keep the DPF soot build-up minimal? And do you force the engine to rev a bit higher? I'm sure no-one at the dealership mentioned anything about DPFs when we bought the car... 🤔. No-one has ever mentioned it when we service the car either (always at the dealership).
