Hey guys just wondering if there is anything to do to a 2L-TE to make it even go a little better because it is so slow like foot to the floor it legitimately takes a minute to get too 60km probably dangerously slow any help is appreciated

Gday I am looking at engine swaps for my 91 surf that I just brought it has a 2L-TE which everyone is telling me to just put a different motor in it anyway (just checked the oil and it has flakes in it) so yea but what would you recommend I’ve been looking at the D4D but dunno i know this has been asked before but there isn’t a good definitive opinion that has been thrown out there thanks
