A history: Auto masters quoted a ridiculous amount for some simple work. Got talked into doing it myself. * Changed spark plugs * Sprayed Throttle body with throttle cleaner. * Added injection cleaner to fuel tank * Changed Battery * Changed fuel filter Car wouldn’t start. I’ve had a few people look at it. Someone was concerned the mass air sensor got sprayed by the throttle cleaner (it did). So replaced with one from wreckers. That didn’t fix it. Found the dust cap was still on the fuel pump. I’d argue about the design of the thing but, whatever. That didn’t fix it. I’m so far out of ideas I don’t know where to begin. Other things, spraying aerosol into the engine will get it to turn over. We have seen fuel pumping. Spark has been seen.

I had a friend come help me and we were able to test and prove the fuel pump was working, so the tracing of electrical fault has ceased. Admittedly the car still wont start so I will be testing for a spark tonight as it is the only thing I have left. You are correct though it seems. Thanks for sticking with me. However, for anyone that finds this via google, because all the information online seems to be for the american model. I found several relays on top of the fuse box behind the glove box, in the top left corner. To be able to see them you need to drop the fuse box. I suspect the fuel pump relay for my 2005 corolla 1zze-fe is located here above the fuse box in the glovebox.

You're correct. There is and EFI Relay, which I have found and tested. I have found a drawing that refers to the pump as the C/OPN relay, but I can't find it. Behind the the glove box is a brown box mounted to the fuse box with the label "Relay Integration". I can't seem to access the thing.

Hi folks. I serviced my corolla today changing the spark plugs, battery, fuel filter (pump remains original) and the oil change etc. Put it all together and it cranks, but doesn't turn over. Checking at the plug of the fuel pump, I get no voltage when the ignition key is set to "ON". Continuity on the earth is good. I pull the pump/filter out of the tank again and fuel runs back down the tube and out, so I thought it was pumping, but perhaps it is just the line being shaken after trying to crank the engine. I put the pump, in a bucket (dry) and pulsed it with 12v off a battery and it squirted the residual fuel inside itself out. Put it all back together and it won't turn over. Which has me wanting to check the relay. I bought the Haynes manual and they do not have a key for the relays there. Looking at the fuse box under the glovebox, it is completely different to what is on show on the Internet. So does anyone know where the relay is that controls the fuel and which actual unit it is?
