  1. Our LC200 has cracked pistons 7 & 8 after only 124,000kms. Always fully serviced and maintained by Toyota dealerships. Fuel testing done for our insurance company indicated diesel was not contaminated. Quote to replace engine and associated work is approx $40,000. We have already spent over $3,000 on new injectors just to discover the pistons had gone. Now Toyota Australia want us to spend another $2,000 to dismantle the engine to see if there is anything else faulty with no guarantee that they will assist in any way. This is despite the service team at the Toyota service centre recommending that they replace the engine as a goodwill gesture. Although the car is out of warranty, surely there should be an expectation that a company selling vehicles costing so much money and marketed for its reliability and longevity, would stand by their product and ensure it is fit for purpose. Are there any known faults with LC 2016 motors similar to our experience? Can a motor be contaminated by a previous tank of fuel and the fault not become apparent until after the tank has been filled again?
