  1. Beaves :yahoo: looking good mate .... really good ... u outa try hooking into a few of the roundabouts on the way into town and u'll feel the difference. The mather street one I took it at 110 the other day ... hung on like $hit to a blanket. IMO 19" are the way to go ... but each to there own ... go for it mate. Well done looking gr8

  2. Congratulations on the purchase of yet another Toyota. I'm sure Andrew will be missed and I'm sure he served you well during his life in Broken Hill ... now you have Alby and he too has great expectations placed upon him to shine through as yet another fine member of the Toyota family. Excellent choice and looking forward to the pics that may follow. Cheers and welcome to Alby :)

  3. Looking good  .... Lowering and wheels .... interested to see the finished result ... good on u. Who did the tint for you?

  4. The tyres will "wear" before your plastic guard does. You need to sort it out ASAP as you don't want to make your tyres unsafe. Me personaly, i think you should have gone for 18's or 19's, 20's are too big if you want to lower the car as well. Your ride comfort will be pretty ordinary I would have thought with that combo.

Cheers, im going to try and shave off the lump on the inner guard and see how i go. But till then im just going to drive my other car. The ride is still pretty good actually, its only on dips when it scuffs and it sounds bad. But speed bumps are fine, and is normal road driving. But i planned for that when I put a softer low profile tire on, so it would smoothe out the ride.

Hopefully shaving off the lump helps.

    Thanks

    Bondie.

A softer lower profile tyre? And I'm not real sure that the tyre will wear b4 the inner guard does ... anyway IMO I think it's got a lot to do with the softer spring the ATX has in it. Mine, a ZR6 on the same section width and profile but 19", does not rub at all. I have had ppl in the back and driven as normal with none of the rubbing happening. If your wallet alows I'd be considering changing the shock/struts which will also firm it up a bit which you may not like ... just my two bobs worths :) I'm sure it looks the part .. and looking forward to seeing some pics

  5. yeah, i am thinking about it hey...... i don't actually mind the standard mag that comes with the SX6, i just wish it was a bit bigger and a bit wider, the actualy design itself is quite good though. I really wish i could afford to get the B Boss Eleanors right now..........

Your right .. they are a nice wheel ... you'll just have to save your bucks m8 if you wanna change them. Your car looks great as it does ....

  6. Seems as though I may have been mislead by an expert in the suspension field. The question when I lowered mine was directed to the shocks/struts as well as the spring. Knowing a little about it I naturally thought these components had to be changed as well. Not necessary, so I was told by the guy at pedders. I'll make myself a couple of calls tomorrow and find out not only from Pedders but also Fulcrum suspensions, who are the Kings springs dealers here. Will let you know the outcome.

One talks of a standard Aurion .... ATX? ZR6? I think somehow there is a bit of difference in suspension between the two ??

  7. Sorry guys my Bad, i read the quote wrong...

its actually to $1100 for the shocks, and $450 for springs.!

    Again sorry guys,

Your car still looks HAWT Davo ! lol :toast:

:D lol ... I know ... Gota ask? Why would you be wanting to change the struts/shocks? No need to m8 .. an unnecessary expense I believe !

  8. nah, i think the owner/manager was at the front counter but i got a bit of a discount for being in defence, kit and kaboodle- $650, which i am not too angry at having to pay, all i can remember was swearing at my mate and he at me when we lowered my VS wagon, never will i do that again, lowering that is, I swear at my mate on a daily basis. The B Boss Eleanors are $2000, i might wait til i need new tyre and then splurge then, the car could go about another 15k kms on these ones i have (still original tyres), i can't really justify that amount at the moment, which is a shame as the car deserves the dam things, but i have other priorities (stupid home loan) haha!!

So your lowering it on the standards?

  9. Oh, and looking at the B Boss Eleanors (18 inchers) to throw on in a month when i can get some $$$$ together.

After seeing them on the White one in here, I think they will suit my girl as well.

    The joys of car ownership!!!!!!

    Beaves:-

That is going to look awesome .... bet you can't wait. Did you see that guy I put you onto? Did he look after you do you think? Can't wait to see your pics

  10. Ive made some Enquires, The TRD springs and Shocks can be ordered, costs bout $500 all up and would bring the car down to bout same as davos height. Which is awesome!!

springs AND shocks for $500? i think you are just talking about springs right? even if $500 for TRD springs? still doesnt make sense.. too cheap?

That does seem a little cheap ... especially considering most OEM parts are priced outa the market. Sure you got that right EVL?

  11. All depends on what you want out of car ... totally your choice ... luxury and the joy of driving a REAL nice car ... yes maybe heavy on fuel, in your eye's, then go the Aurion. If your more concerned about running costs then might I suggest the Prius ... not quite my cup of tea .... my avatar is what I prefer. Happy hunting .... hope u find a happy medium

  12. You got the formula right in one hit! Great rims, great colour and great height! Congrats :toast:

    RME1

You got that right .... I saw it on the LOT .... drove it .... imagined it .... and done it .... thanks for the input. I doubt , when it comes time to replace it, that I'd ever go back to a Holden ... best move made the Aurion ... what is they say ... happy as a pig in $hit :yahoo:

  13. Hi All,

I have an Aurion SX6 and i was just wondering if the central locking and window locking controls on the drivers door are supposed to be backlit when you turn on your headlights?

Mine isn't and it seems a bit weird that the symbols are in an illuminous white setup to be backlit.

Your replies would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Pacie

We have had our ZR6 for about a month now and I was only just thinking the same thing one night whilst driving. Seemed a little strange to me that they weren't backlit along with the mirror controls. All the effort put into a great car like the Aurion and little things like this are not addressed  Still a bloddy nice car
