  1. Hey guys, I got my corolla Levin SX Auto in April 2008. Its been a fine 1st car. No issues, that is until the past couple of months. Now I must stress that my car is maintained very very well. It is garaged, washed about 3 times a month, Premium Fuel is always used, etc. Im sure you get the idea. Now The most major issue happened today, but I will show you what I emailed the dealer, and let me know what you think: So what do your guys think? is this normal? I am actually quite surprised all these issues have come up all together in the past few months of owning the car.
  2. pfft they should have offered this over a year ago, with no price increase. Toyotas competition had this as standard equipment for no price increase over a year ago now, there is no reason other then to save Toyota money and to rip their customers off. The sad thing is, This is australias No1/ No2 car, so they can get away with anything and people are still happy to pay.
  3. I just thought I would take a browse on the new zealand Toyota website. and they have a MUCH better selection of Corollas compared to us in Australia! All of their models have the same Levin ZR Interior, we only get the more premium interior on the top end model. and VSC and TC is standard across the range! What the hell is going on with Toyota Australia? Australia No1 selling car (No2 some months), They are upping the price of the Corolla by $750 next year. They dont offer the ZR Interior across the whole line up. They dont offer TC or VSC. They dont offer Diesel Corolla's at all. So we get charged more and we get less? Why? We have a larger population compared to new zealand, it is a proven big seller? so why the hell would u offer less kit? Pigs.
  4. apparently it can be added. All you need is to add those sensors and to put some new computer hardware and firmware into the car and your done... so technically it could be done. Wether Toyota plant to update the previous line up, remains to be seen. It could also hurt the resale value of the current corolla line up. So they need to be careful.
  5. wtf? I thought the current corolla came standard with traction control? So what does it actually come with in the braking department currently? ABS...and?....
  6. 600L per 100KM hahahah wtf do you do? That's the worst fuel consumption i've ever seen! You'd need a petrol truck driving alongside with you to get anywhere. I use Caltex Vortex 95 in my 2008 Levin ZR Manual and get around 600kms out of the tank. Avg fuel consumption is 8.4L/100Kms city driving. lol woops I should have said I get about 600KM a tank lol.
  7. I just thought I would see which type of fuel people are using in their corollas. Please post which model corolla you have and what fuel you are using and how many KM you are getting out of it on average. Im personally using the 08 Corolla Levin SX on BP Ultimate. Ive only driven about 1000KM with it, and I get about 600KM out of a tank.
  8. I am trying to sort out what tyres my Corolla Levin SX will come with when it finally arrives? I am looking at getting the Kappa Alloy wheels fitted to my car, but the dealer I bought it off seams to be incapable of offering a decent price. So I have a contact within Toyota where I can get the Kappa Alloys for $880 then Tyres for $245 each (Dunlop Sport Max). However they are offering a trade in on the wheels and tyers I get with my car. I just need to know WHAT tyres Toyota put onto the Conquest/Levin SX/Levin ZR (all the same rims, so I assume the same tyres), so I can let the guy know, so I can sort out some trade in deal with them. Cheers.
  9. $800 for Kappa Wheels? Where abouts are they selling them at that price? I wouldn't mind getting a set myself. haha I have a contact who gets them for trade price or whatever. I think they are $830. But thats just for 4 rims, no rubber. Ive been told to get Dunlop Sport Maxx tyers for the wheels and im set.
  10. for when I get my corolla at the end of the month, can you tell me how u get into those settings? like which buttons I push?
  11. apparently there is an option to adjust the sensitivity, I created a thread: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=14392 "Its under the "SETTING THE VOLUME" section of the section pf the bluetooth. If you have the manual that has Part number : PZQ6012020 as the first number listed it shold be on page 25" Can anyone confirm 100%?
  12. I know the current gen corolla comes with Bluetooth on alot of the models, I was wondering how good the bluetooth is? - Can it link into my contacts? so I can browse through all my contacts? - Is it voice activated? so I can tell it "Dial Andrew" and it will call Andrew? - Can you adjust how loud the speakers are when you are talking? - Can you adjust the sensitivity so if you seem faint, you can up the sensitivity to make yourself heard alot more? - Can you assign speed dials?
  13. isnt there a way to adjust the bluetooth settings to make it louder? or to make it more sensitive?
  14. Im actually getting those alloys on my corolla when it arrives. I shopped around and asked around alot. The best tyers that everyone keeps on recommending for the 17" Kappa's are: Dunlop SP Sport Max I have been offered about $240 per wheel, including fitments, alignment and whatever else they need to do too. They are considered to be more of a performance tyer if anything, so maybe not on the cheap side. But they match the tyer requirments that Toyota are mentioning on their website for the Kappa Alloys
  15. This being my 1st car? you would assume there would be only a few hundred meters on the trip computer? Not 10, 15 20 KM! Where they hell do they drive it? EDIT: Tofuboi, what is Home Mode? and how can I check my car to see if I have the same problem?
  16. umm why did you get a replacement? I have read the contract and it says that if the seller doesnt provide the car within 14 days of the delivery date, im free to leave the contract and get my deposit back. now is there a difference between 'Estimated Delivery Date' and 'Delivery Date'. Because on the contract there is 'Estimated Delivery Date' in big bold writing right next to my signiture, as the 10th of March. There is no mention of a 'Delivery Date' Anyway at all.
  17. Im not sure if im the only one that finds this remotely odd. I ordered the Corolla Levin SX, in Graphite, with the Saftey Pack. I am also considering getting the kappa alloys. regardless. I placed the order for my car on the 5th of December, and when I did the paperwork the 'estimated arrival date' was the 10th of March. Now the online tracking has been updated to say the 7th of April!!! and to be honest, I wouldnt be surprised if I had to wait longer, which I personally think is just stupid! Now if it was a really expensive car, say... a mini... which is custom built to what you want in terms of styling, etc etc etc. Then fair enough. A mate of mine just got his brand new Mini Cooper S back in January, and he also waiting 5 months. and im ordering a COROLLA, not a MINI, and I have to wait the same amount of time? Its a corolla... the most popular car in the world, the most popular car in Australia... and I have had to wait 5 months (thats almost half a year!) to get the car? seems abit odd? is this common? should I call my dealer and ask them what the hell is going on? cheers. I was also considering cancelling the order all together, due to such a long wait. What are the T&C's regarding me cancelling my order? I did put a depostit of $1500 down, will I loose that? or since its gone well outside of their estimated arrival date, can I get out and keep my deposit?
  18. I am looking at getting the 17" Toyota Corolla Kappa Alloys, I was wondering what would be the best bang for the buck tyers to get for it? The Toyota website says it needs: 225/45 R17 91H whatever that means lol. Im not after racing tyers or anything like that, as its only an automatic corolla, but im not after rubbish tyers. I was expecting to spend about ~$200 per tyer (if thats reasonable)?? Cheers. Paul.
  19. When it comes to springs and shocks, I wouldnt be changing them until later down the track, if at all. The things I would like to get when I get it, or short after would be: Kappy Alloys Tinting Lights The Kappa alloys arnt a problem, the only thing I need advice on there is what tyers do I use? What is the darkest legal tint you can get? and are there places that will go darker? I never knew the higher the K on the lights, the less visability you get. Are the stock lights fine? or would it better to change them? I saw some Philips Rally ones? are they better?
  20. I ordered my Corolla Levin SX back at the start of December, and it wont be arriving until Early April from what I can tell by Toyotas Online Tracker thing. Anyways! I was looking at doing some very minor modifications to the car to help put abit of a sporty image on it. I was looking at getting the Kappy Alloy Wheels from Toyota, I do have a contact who can get them alot cheaper! (~$800) however with that in mind, they wont come with rubber, so I was wondering what type of Rubber people recommend to put onto these wheels? I wasent looking at the best of the best rubber, just the best bang for your buck kind of rubber. So not rubbish, but not the best of the best. Next thing was the headlights. Now I know the Model above mine the ZR has these HID lamps or something, and the SX (mine) doesnt. I was looking at getting a more 'white' look to the headlights, and I was wondering what people recommend. I heard that the SX uses Philips lamps and i saw Diamond Vision and Blue Vision lights on a website. Will they fit my car? and what model is better? and how much am I looking at? I was looking at perhaps lowering the car (to suit the Kappa Alloys), I heard you can just lower it by changing the springs around, but if I was looking for better handeling I should also considering changing the Shocks. What springs do people recommend, and if I wanan end up going the whole way, what shocks do people recommend? And the last thing I was looking at was tinting, whats the best window tint to get? and what prices am I looking at? If you have some other modifications in mind, post it here, it would be cool to bounce some ideas of everyone. EDIT: Is it worth considering Run Flats for the corolla on those Kappa Alloys? or it just isnt worth it? and does the Corolla have a Tyer Pressure Monitoring System? because I suppose if they are run flats I wont know if they have a puncture without the monitoring system? Cheers. Paul.
