  3. Hey everyone, the initial link on the pinned topic for the dowlonad of a "Corolla Service Manual (ZZE122 & ZZE123)" doesn't work :S

    This one below works perfectly:

Btw, I uploaded the iso to my host in one file to make it easy to download for everyone :D

    http://www.commoncents.net.au/corolla.php

If you have problems, just email me.

And this one below - i'm not sure if it works..

Just think it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean up the topic to make it abit easier for everyone..

  4. thats what i keep telling him, but he is like "Lamcers are made for corners" im like WTF are you on about. you dont drive a **** evo!!! but then he is all yeah but since they are based on eachother my lancer still corners really good so i tell him to go **** himself.

then he comes up later and says "your car is lower so that mean, yours will have less chance of flipping but my car can corner faster (he emphasized faster)" at that point i realized he is douche that has got no knowledge of the topic.

i have made a bet i will beat him through the place where going and the winner gets 50 bucks and a tank of fuel. i cant wait.

p.s after school he showed me his tyres and said, that because they are thinner they can make me turn faster and sharper and that thick tyres are only used for not loosing traction when accelerating but suck at cornering. i told him that that is true when we are in a carpark doing less that 20. but he still insists that he will kill me in a handling race....bring it on. (his tyres are also nearly bold lol)

punch him in the head lol

  5. hi, my friend keeps saying that his lancer can corner faster than my car and handle better. and i thought that mine would handle better than his. he has just a basic '99 lancer, one with the small spoiler and thats all everything is stock as a rock. and i have a stock 92celica.

I'm just kinda stuck cos i don't really know who's car would handle better. he also says that the lancer is faster to, which i can believe cos its a lot lighter.

anyone know which car is better or a way to find out (legally) (Google doesn't answer it)

aww will knowing whos car is better make u better than himm haha.. the way i see it, no matter wat stats u get ur m8, he wont be satisfied till u take him on up a mountain - i vote mt nebo :spiteful:

  6. G'day All,

I just want to share my recent experience in regards of my Levin ZR 6sp. On my way home Thursday night (westbound), A rock (not sure what size) hit my windscreen and made a deep chip and created a small 10c wide crack, a star shaped crack if you wish. It must have been lifted by oncoming traffic (eastbound) because the rock must have been travelling mighty fast to make that deep chip.

I got up the following morning and found out that the crack spread horizontally to about a 1 litre coke bottle length thanks to the chilli conditions here in the west. I was so devastated. Only had the car for about 2 months and a half!

Obviously I had to get a new windscreen. So I rang up Toyota Penrith and asked for a quote. It was about $300 for a normal windscreen. They then realised that I had a Levin ZR with rain sensors, so the price was then amended to $550. Installation costs will take me all the way to $700 in total.

I then rang my insurance issuer to ask if I was covered. Unfortunately I was not, so I will not be covered in a sense that they cannot waiver the excess. (since my excess is > than windscreen repair cost, it makes more sense to just pay for the repair costs).

To all of you who have rain sensors and are heavy motorway users: Make sure that you have windscreen damage coverage on your policy. By doing this, the insurance issuer will usually waiver the excess on the windscreen damage claim and you will not have to pay a dime. Yes your premium will be a fraction more, but it is worth insuring your windscreen especially if you have a special sensor attached to it.

On another note, my Dealer Lander should have mentioned this to us. They were the ones who issued the insurance policy as well. They should have mentioned at least the cons and pros of windscreen coverage, especially with my car.

I hope you find this post useful peeps. This experience is far too unpleasant to go through.

    Manny

I heard O'brien will repair something like that for about $50

  9. WOW thanks for the responses everyone especially rollamods!

To be honest it sounds more complex than i thought. Not hard just alot of things to watch out for and knowing me ill forget to do something stupid like bolting the brake line and ABS line back up haha

I can see you live in brissie.. wanna do it for me? :D

Its easier to install coilovers, well good ones like Cusco anyway since they are one unit and don't need to reuse existing components. Just drop out the old shock/spring toghether (no compressor required), then bolt the coilover in, and done. With Cusco they come pre adjusted and tightened for a perfect ride height, so no need to touch.

Yer i was thinking about coilovers but its too much money to spend on just suspension to be honest. If I had that type of cash I'd get a decent CAI as well as new rims ;) Id rather stick to Kings and once my shocks are worn out, just get Boags shocks for $165 a corner with a lifetime warranty (thats the buy price not including fitting them in)..

Im just wondoring if King lows will be enough <_<

  10. Hey everyone im a noobie to this forum..

I know that this has been covered a million times but im looking around and I can't find what I'm looking for..

Wat I want to know is whether it is easy or not to change the springs yourself. Ive got a Corolla Sportivo 04 and i want to replace the stock springs with King lows.

I heard it was ***** easy but i also heard that there are some tricks to watch out for otherwise you can really F&%K it up easily..

I know it's probably been cover everyone so i dont want anyone nagging that its PREVIOUSLY COVEREDD..

if u can all point me in the right direction id appreciate it!! :)

  11. Im having the same problem.. I don't know what to do..

By the way, it's probably wort noting (having an ek civic before my corolla sportivo), that the reason your integra was so rocky was probably because your shocks were fully worn out from (most likely) your King Spring SuperLows. Putting lowered springs with the shocks you have now should be fine.

My best option so far looks like buyng Pedders springs (that I have heard are alot more of a smoother ride than King Springs) and putting them in myself or with a mate cause it's too expensive getting it done by pedders.

That's my opinion anyway - im not a pro :P

Pedders springs are King springs. They make them, paint them red and sell them to Pedders. Putting any lowered Springs on stock shocks in your Corolla will wear them out in a minimum of 10 000k's depending on how many K's you have already done. If your lucky they may last as much as 25 000k's but by then they will be leaking and your ride will be like a soggy lounge chair with handling to boot.

Yer... no. I disagree man. Pedders are a linear spring (just like the stock springs) meaning that they are the same thickness all the way through whereas King Springs start and finish thinner and get thicker halfway through.

I HIGHLY doubt their painted Kings... and a lot of people would get 15'000 - 25'000 easy out of stock shocks easy!!

As I said, I'm no pro.. or stubborn :P.. but Iv been doing abit of research for the last couple of months and that's what I've found
