Hi guys I've got a brain teaser for you witch I cannot find the info for on the net. I have a Toyota hilux surf LN130 2.4TD. As we all know these tend to smoke a bit under load like pulling away over taking and so on.Well two nights ago I did some thing I have asked around about in work shops, what would happen if I removed the main butter fly from the throtle body, would it mess with my boost control? Well all I got was shrugged sholders. So I removed it and yes the smoke is a lot less pulls alot better at low rpm and a bit more throtle sensitive. The down fall is that when I switch off the motor it's stops ruff, when you drive for a half a hour or more on the motor way that responce goes away to standard and motor more noisey. Now my question, is it bad to run it like this? Do I have to get an inter cooler for long distance driving?
