Ok guys

I've done some searching and found a company that runs airbrushing workshops here in Perth. They run workshops a few times a year, and the guy that started this (and usually runs the course) has been airbrushing for over 30 years. He does cars, muriels, shirts, body-art etc.

Basically, if we can get 9 to 12 people together they'll get someone over here. They do have a course set for Oct 11 n 12, but I'll be in KL, so I've emailed and asked if they'll come over if I find the people for it. They'll do it, maybe even bring the October one forward. This means I'm aiming for mid Aug to Mid Sep, or earlier.

The weekend workshops is around the $350 mark. Its for all levels, beginners to advanced. Have a look ( http://www.airbrush.com.au/learnhow.shtml ) and tell me what you think. As you'll see, its run in Rockingham or Lansdale.

I reckon it'd be something different, and I'd get a chance to meet/catch-up with the Perth TOCA crew. If you want, invite a friend too if they're keen

This is my car, tho it's going nowhere at the mo

The 4afe has a cracked head. Originally wanted to a 4agze for it, but can't afford it at the mo (really want it after all my research, this is the best replacement engine ), but am sticking in a silvertop due to funds. I do want to mod the engine with time, but am sticking to fixing the exterior for now. Will also be upgrading the brakes.

Yup, it's been in this state for about a month and a half now. For the first 3 or 4 weeks, was too busy to do much, but did speak to my mechanic and called this guy he told me about for the engine. He's been busy n still hasn't been able to find one. Really starting to drive me up the wall. I want to do the whole thing myself , but lack the tools or space <_< and the old man would have a heart-attack (btw, I'm 24, he's almost 70, and I'm definately not getting out of home now I have this loan because of this IT course I'm doing)

So far:

15inch rims (hmmm ... BobJane wheels n tyre package)

Painted the front grille gloss black (need to repaint it and add a clear coat maybe)

Alpine MP3 player, 4inch speakers (2 front, 2 rear)

Tinted the windows

Wildcat 4-2-1 headers n exhaust

Debadged and removed the stripes running along the sides

Plans:

Headlight mod (I'm game to attempt it) + Phillips (Diamond Vision, 6000k?) bulbs

Repaint mudguards/flaps, wiper body (maybe more, black, where appropriate)

Get rid of any rust spots coming up

A proper wash n clay to decide what I should do paint-wise

Suspension - renew springs and shocks, but most likely maintain standard height

Strut brace

Exhaust - full system, + panel filter (heatproof current air intake system as I've checked it out, its sealed and is seperate enough from the engine bay)

Short-shifter (if I can find one)

New bonnet (almost all the welds are cracked)

Possible upgrade of stereo or carputer/laptop depending on this IT course + job

Change LEDs in dash

I've decided to stick with car as it's good for light off-roading, luggage space (I've done DJing before, may return to it, and I carry the full set-up), the fact that I would like to make a sleeper out of it , and I've grown to like it. I want to look after the body, interior and handling before I do any costly engine mods to it.

I'll hopefully make it out on the next cruise.

Hi, my name is Andy. I own an 88 sr5 rola, station wagon, which I got with the insurance payout when my commodore was sandwiched. Almost got a subaru sportswagon. I live in Perth, SoR. I'm 24.

Anyway, I had been thinkin about upgrading the engine, I'm happy with the car n its 4x4 capability, but the 4afe wasn't giving out the power I wanted. It recently died (cracked head) and am about to stick in a 20v silvertop. Was hoping for a 4agze but due to recent events n the fact I'm about to go back to study n had to get a loan for my course .... plans change.

I been doing the research for the past year, year and a half about the mod/s. Still plugging away, looked at toymods, twincam, rollaclub, found billzilla's site, etc. Am still hunting through this forum for any useful info, and any ideas.

Can't wait to get it back on the road. Any extra mods will take time and may happen down the track.

Anyways, great to be here, and hopefully I get to meet some of the tocau crew in person.

I'm keen (if it's still an upcoming event, and if there's enuff room for me).

Plz let me know the date though, my schedules over the place at the mo.

Hi all

Just joined up. found the site 2 or 3 wks ago. My car isn't goin anywhere at the mo. It's an sr5, n it has a cracked head. Replacin the orig 4afe with a 20v silvertop. Looked at the agze, but due to the work n costs, it wasn't viable, n I'm goin back to study. Still decidin if I should do any work b4 I put the new eng in, n money is gonna b the decidin factor unfortunately.

I've de-badged it, removed the stripes along the sides, put 15's on it, n had exhaust done. I'm keeping it plain, I like the idea of a sleeper.

Sorry bout hijackin the thread. Hopefully I'll b able to make it to the next cruise.
