  1. This was my Sunday

Departed my house about 9am, to go and get some coffee, doughnuts and a newspaper and saw a mass array of Sportivo’s around my area.

1 - Turning Left from Pine River drive Murrumba Downs onto Dohles Rocks Road, I had a Blue Pre-Facelift sitting next to me at the lights.

2 - As I turned left, there was the Champagne coloured Post-Facelift sitting at the lights on Dohles Rocks Road waiting to turn right into Pine River Drive.

3 - Sitting at the lights to turn off Bray’s Road Murrumba Downs turning right onto Anzac Avenue, I spotted a white Pre-Facelift go past heading east along Anzac Avenue.

4 - While then travelling east along Anzac Avenue, waiting at the lights on Anzac Avenue waiting to turn right onto the Bruce Highway Northbound was a Red Pre-Facelift.

5 - 7-11 Rothwell, I pulled into the servo and there was a black Pre-Facelift at the bowser.

Then later on yesterday, I was cruising around with my wife, and saw the following:

6 - Whilst sitting in Maccas Albany Creek, a Champagne Post-Facelift westbound along Albany Creek Road.

7 - Sitting at the lights on Gympie Road Caseldine turning right onto Linkfield Road was a blue Pre-Facelift heading north behind me.

8 - While heading north along Norris Road Bracken Ridge, a black Pre-Facelift turned off Bracken Ridge Road and headed south along Norris Road…..

    Wow - 9 Sportivos in 2 trips in 1 day, and it wasn’t even a cruise….

Azza how can you remember all the Stivos you saw? (even the color/pre/post facelift ) Did you write them down everytime you see one pass by or something :P

  2. ok yes i do understand what you are saying and i apologise i hope you accept my ignorance

but there is 1 thing i would like to point out

you are winging about a sentence 2 and a half lines long with no punctuation, your sentence was longer than mine and witohut punctuation aswell so ????? think about it before making accusations please

cheers lets just drop it anyways its a thread on CAI not punctuation

    :)

I think he did it on purpose ;)

  3. I install mine 2 days ago too, just wondering is it normal to get a "PSSS" noise after I rev the engine? (a bit like the sound you get when you turn the car off, 05 Stivo) It's more noticeable when the car is cold and in neutral. haha I didn't know the TRD CAI comes with a fake BOV  Hopefully the sound is normal coz I check everywhere and can''t seems to find any leaks etc. Also what do you guys use to cover the hole next to the VSV?

As for power gain it's definitely noticeable, feels like it got more torque, and the engine rev less on Highway speed (~3800rpm compare to ~4200rpm @ 120km/h) So far I really love mine, just the noise is a bit concerning...

  4. I've got the Navman GPS 3450 for my PDA, so far it work fairly well, save me from getting lost a few times lol :P However the start up time is a bit slow, it doesn't work if you "can't see the sky" (eg: tunnel), and it can be stupid sometimes (eg: tell me to chuck a illegal U-turn on a freeway, turn right when I am on top of a bridge...) but for the price I pay ($250 from DSE) I guess that's acceptable.

  5. It is impossible to put into reverse and not know about it :)

    *** bless the reversing beeper...

I sometimes feel sad and unsure about my reversing abilities in other cars now :(

I have to make sure im in reverse like 4 times before ill start reversing :P

while on the topic of reverse...

do you guys have trouble with the Stivo crunching into reverse? even at a complete standstill?

I find if you whack it into first before going reverse it helps alot..

Dad said the 350z's are the same... and whacking it into 1st realigns all the gears..

Yup, have trouble going to reverse even when standstill, sometimes crunch as well  will try putting into first first :)

also have little trouble going from 2nd to 3rd, just not perfectly smooth... need more practice maybe?

  6. You are so right BlackRolla, well I don't feel stupid, I just think the person who keeps on repeating that line is stupid. I have to say I did get very offended and did feel very unwelcome here, luckily I've been lurking here for a while (before I got my Rolla) and I know that not everyone here is a ***** and there are lots of nice people here, or else from my experience on the first day I post, I would have left stright away. I am here to learn and share experiences, not to get told what to do and get insulted

  7. Thanks SILVABULLIT, I've read a lot of your previous posts and they are very informative, much more then "somebody's" whinging and complaining <_<

Back on topic, I am a Meguiars fan too and yes I know cheap buffer or rotary buffer can burn the paint, but as far as I know Random Orbital Buffer is very "newbie proof", please correct me if I'm wrong... The Makita buffer's minimum RPM is 4000 and I am not sure if it's trigger sensitive or not, so I'm a bit concern if that speed is too fast or not... Can you please tell me what's the average/maximum speed you use to buff? Also which buff pad you use? Meguiars W8006? I can't find them anywhere but I haven't check Autobarn yet, so I'll go check them out next week.

Once again thanks for your help, you are what this forum needs more, instead of idiot who only knows how to insult people and tell people to use the search tool, which I did try and can't find anything related to my quesitons

  8. A agree with kcorro, and yes, this topic has been covered before!

I've spend the last few days and couple of hours today researching but did not find any info regarding polishing with a buffer.. I did try the search tool but it doesn't seems to come up with something that answer my questions, so if you can find the previous topics which covered polishing with a buffer please help :)

Reason I ask this is because I just got a new Rolla and it's black, and it seems that normal hand polishing/waxing will cause lots of swirl marks :\

  9. Hi Guys,

New here, just wanna ask how you guys polish/wax your cars? Anyone use a Random Orbital Buffer/Sander? I did some research and found 2 models other people recommended: Bosch PEX400AE, Hitachi FSV13Y, and I also saw Makita BO5021 today in Bunnings... Anyone use any of these before? Thanks for helping! :D
