  1. 1st wkd of Feb is a no go for me and the arvo/evening of the 16th....

Apart from that, all good so far.

    Mick,

What was the name of your exhaust bloke again? I have some work coming up for him involving an engine back system. Might get him to make up a Mick spec box for it.

    Sorry Rob,

Haven't been back in the thread til now.

I can't remember the name of the dam exhaust place. After consulting yellow pages though I believe its Roadway Mufflers. Yellow pages ad can be found here.

I can't remember the owners name though. May have been Geoff although not sure.

He should remember the car though. It spent abit of time there.

The box I got from him is a Supercat. Model i'm not sure.

In other news, this Sunday is looking doable although this is subject to change as I have friends coming to stay for the Crusty Demons show. It just will depend if they will leave to travel home before the cruise or not.

  2. Hi Guys,

I might just start by saying I have used the search function (with wildcard) and cannot find a single reference to this brand. Whether or not I have spelt the word correctly is another issue altogether.

As i'm about due for tyres (225/35/18) I've been doing quite abit of ringing around and researching for a new set of hoops.

It seems now the specified size is rarer than when I brought the last set.

One retailer really heavily recommended Marangoni's ($240 a corner), which at that point I had never heard of before.

From what i've been able to find out so far, is that they are an Italian made high performance tyre and more commonly available here in 18-20inch sizes at 235 and up widths (common with Falcon and Commodore and other large car fitments)

Only info i've been able to find from here in Oz is on the LS1 forums and so far feedback is positive.

What I'd like to know is if anyone at all has a set of these or know of anyone that has them, i'd be really interested to hear any feedback anyone has.

  3. Hey all...

Just wondering if anyone else gets a noise, when reversing and braking.

I'm starting to notice a squeaking/squealing noise when i reverse and brake...

Mish said they get a noise also, but it's when there car is cold.

I can hear the noise when i get home from work, reversing my car into my backyard, after a half hour or so drive.

But i have gone forward as soon as i hear it, and no noise, it's only reversing.

Anyone else get this noise, or know what it is. Any help would be great.

    Thanking you in advance

I've had this noise as well.

Its one of two things just the pad clearance on the rear discs or just a build up of pad dust between the pad and the rotor.

As stated by the others, you can try giving them a clean out or roughen up.

  4. DRAGrims.jpg

Very posh wheels! I'd love them on my car, except with Hypersilver centres.

Someone round the traps here used to have some 18" Carlssons, 15 spoke, silver with chrome dish. Very classy!

Hey guys..what about wheels that tempetyres provide? like tenso lenso n stuff..what do u guys think about those wheels?

    Lenso's rock dude! :toast:

    ..........Just ask me ;)

  5. Hi guys,

Does anyone of you experience steering vibration @ 130km/h or more ? I have done tyre balancing, rotation and even alingment all together last month but the problem is still there. I even ask another person for second opinion and he said if the tyres are balanced properly and this shouldn't happen. It seems to be only happen @ the speed of 130km or more. i am sick of trying to find the right person to fix this problem. Your opinion is kindly appreciated.

Heaps of things to take into consideration here!

Was the wheel balancing and alignment done correctly, by a reputable person?

Hit any gutters or large potholes recently?

If you rims have any imperfections, balancing can only correct these to an extent, there can still be imperfections.

I once bent a rim on a previous car via a pothole and found that when I changed my tyres shortly after, I could only put it on the back due to it being rough even after a re-balance. If it was on the front you could still feel the slight twitch through the steering wheel.

once I managed to find a new rim I got rid of the other completely.

As others have said theres other steering components, none of which should be worn being an 05 model, but if you've hit something these parts could definately be affected. This could also be something as simple as going over a speed hump or even a dip too fast.

    Hope this helps a little.

  6. The Silver for pre and post facelift are different. the facelift model used a darker silver than the pre-facelift models. The computer may only have the formula for the later "silver" colour.

    Spot on there!

Post facelift is darker and almost heading towards a gunmetal shade. Very nice I think.

One of our Canberra boys (Sheldon - AKA - Order_last_one) has the facelift silver and its one tuff looking machine, although he has some nice Mods too!
