  1. understood. is that to say that there is no info on here though? is this not the celica forum?
  2. Hi guys, I have just recently purchased an old TA23 Celica, and I would like to try and restore it. The body is quite straight but it has some major rust along the roof lining that has gone through, and some other minor rust in other areas. The engine works and drives well, just needs a new battery. Only 85000 original kms, but the carby has just recently been replaced. The only other real issue is the driver's side door, which doesn't close properly, and I may need to acquire a new door. Wheels are pretty good, oldish but are fine, just put fresh air into all the rear tyre which was flat, and fresh air into the spare also. All the interior has been removed but I have all the parts to put it back together, some (such as dash, glovebox sunvisors and mirrors) are fine, where other smaller plastic bits have been snapped or broken. She is a lovely car given the age but my primary concern is the rust. I live in the QLD Brisbane area and I am wanting to know if anyone out there can help me out with some advice on rust removal? I am deciding whether or not it is worth getting it done by a professional, I know that I would be paying for time/labour mostly. but time is something I have on my side, and money is kind of limited. I have had an offer on a migwelder for 250 bucks and it's only been used half a dozen times. I would say a ball park figure for getting it done could be in the thousands (for complete rust removal and full respray), to be done by anyone who is actually willing to do it. Alternatively, is there anyone who lives in the Brisbane city area who might be able to help out on weekends or something? This is a project car so there is no hurry, but obviously the clock is ticking RE: Rust, and i'd like to get a new door from the wreckers, I could be getting this today. Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated. Ryan.
