  1. hey guys and girls. been a long time since a post work related of course but now im in the position to do something with the rolla finally... want it lowered (yay) predicting ill go with 17" rims for minimal complications with fitting still i need guidance with some sort of suspension set up . nothing crazy, NO track use just lowered 2.5" maybe 3. what u guys suggest to use? kings? also will shocks need replacing? budget its quite restricted and dont think will stretch to coilovers, all suggestions welcome oh yeah any places to get this done at in victoria, live on the mornington peninsula.. cheers in advance AE96 - NOT a sportivo hehehe james

  4. hey people... a few days ago someone (sorry forget who it was) mentioned that if i wanted to upgrade my brakes i should go for 'superstruts' from the 20v. i rang around a few places and the best i could do was to get the rotors...no calipars so what im askin is, that if i fitted just the rotors, and upgraded to something like bendix ultimate pads would this be worth while ? and also would the stock calipars i have now be able to fit with the new, asumeing larger, rotors ? any comments/input appreciated. i really wanna sort the front end out. cheers
  5. whats wrong with changeing the tyre size to make it cheaper ? seems like the more reasonable approach to payin 200 a corner
  6. so if i paid 500 for a unit who would i take it to in order to get it installed ? im not that confident in doing a great job like map81 did in the link. with tune n install with second hand unit are u looking at about 1000 bux for 8 to 10 kw gain in power ? seems rather pricey

  8. what are the 'supporting mods' that your speeking rollamods of in order to get the 10 kw gain ? very interested in this...also is the price anyting near that of the unichip ?
  9. hey people well i drive all city and outa my lil 1.8 beast ill get bout 520 km to 38 L...tank being 40 L in total capacity. that's when im running optimax... which is all the time :D =13.7 km/L
  10. go and listen to as many different combo's as you can. at the end of the day u will b the one that has to put up with the sound so you might as well be the one to go and chose it. everyone has different tastes and ideas and thats ok but dont base your decision around what others have to say...even if a lot of it is good :D i have a clarion 12 and although it is a cheapy it does the job and hasnt done anything wrong by me. alot of the sound has to do with the constrction of the box ported = SPL sealed = SQ (usually) just go hav a listen...im liking the RF subs at the moment... and JL for bang for ya buck especially the W0 series. drive it with a mono block though for added fun :P
  11. wow i really appreciate that break down of the parts n prices coz in all seriousness i didnt know jst exactly would b involved. now i hav sumthin to aim at... first things first tho i need to sorta out the suspension, brakes n clutch from there i needto get new mags....these 15's r jst sh*t and were on the car when i bought it.... cheers rollamods :D
  12. alright this is startin to get quite expensive now :P ok so lets see we have... >turbo >injectors >intercooler >motec ecu upgrage for starters....then.... >new larger exhaust >upgraded clutch >ae101 brakes upgrade = how much ??? but anyway i hav to seriously sort the clutch n suspension n brakes first as they r gggaaaawwwwnnnn when i get it all 2gether itll b worht the moeny im sure
  13. i havnt had the car dynoed but according to redbook the engine makes 85kw at 5600rpm...that 102kw figure might b from the nxt series up ? so it seems i would hav to run sumthin like 6-7 psi to achieve the 130 mark would this mean a rebuild of the internals of the engine ie pistons etc ? just tryin to weigh up all the costs involved b4 makin a decision
  14. thnx ppl this info is really appreciated. i know the screaminperformance workshop but since southern m/w is only like 10 mins from ny place it makes it quite a good option. so with the recomended small turbo conversion the use of the LSD and upgraded clutch n brakes would this see a pull of maybe 130kw with the stock engine ? and possible 14 sec quater ? jst wondering... thnx agn ppl....oh yeah and i would hav to get a new ecu wouldnt i with the turbo conversion i wouldnt b able to get the original remapped ? would this also b the case with the AE101 4agze swap ? cheers
  15. sorry mate didnt exactly know how u run ur forums here... yeah anyone here with a clue bout upgrade with brakes/calipars ? or what sorta increase with the unichip can b expected ?
