  1. I have never had leather before, so anyone here know what you need to do to keep the leather in tip top shape?

does anyone know ow often i should clean??? I have only had the car a month, the leather still looks good but i want to take all the preventative steps to keep it tip top

    Thanks in advance

  2. After we had the 1000k checkup, the dealer gives it a free car wash, hand wash. I would have refused if it was a machine, but i though hey it will be as good as ours.

It seems the wash was ok. but they missed a few spots of dirt, no worries, the 'Intelligent' guy that comes around after to dry it with a shammy rubs it all off....not even a bucket of water to rince the shammy!

Well talk about scratches gallore. and they claim it cant be them! Thats it, NO ONE WILL WASH MY CAR EVER AGAIN!

Will attempt to polish these imperfections out today, i'll let you know how i go. I cannot believe they would go around doing this unknowingly. I meant, when i picked the car up, it was spotless, not it looks at least 6 mths old not 3 weeks...

    Very dissapointed Frankston TOYOTA.

Although the service was thorough, they fixed the little things i had mentioned, you know, like the handbrake not holding the car on my driveway.

OMG...I would be very upset. they offered to wash my car when i went in for my service, but i said no. On a side note last week i bought Meguiares NXT Generation Car Wash, my car has not shone like it does now...cant recommend enough, it is about $20 at supacheap, but it is money well spent.

  3. We looked at the cx9 and found the interior space inferior to the kluger, also the fuel economy would be worse. Therefore even though it looks bigger, in reality, it isnt. In fact i believe due to the way the kluger is designed. it would have more interior space than its Prado big brother, i just saw that in the showroom yesterday when i was getting the 1000k checkup. Although i would have liked the lockable 4wd system for offroad and the adjustable suspension...but for $80,000! get out of here!

My sister has a Prado GXL, great car, very reliable, cheap to service, but $60K with the level of equipment the same as a hilux? no leather, no sat nav, no I dont think so.

  4. We had a Ford Terrorist at our university and in 12 months I blew the head gasket and the rear differential in it! They are a rubbish car! use a stupid amount of fuel are so very unreliable, have pretty much the WORST engine ever made that has done more head gaskets than John Howard sucked c0cks while in government (and that s allot!). I would never own one they are a total heap of crap.

The reason you don't see so many reviews of the Kluger is because it will bury the local car industry overnight with their rubbish SUV's (Captivated and Terrorist!) the performance is but one aspect of this (read my reviews) the other is the economy and the quality, again its on another planet its so much better.

    Get On It :)

I also drove a Captiva and a Mazda CX-9...I cant really fault the Mazda it was nice, bose sound system, 20in wheels, leather everywhere but the deciding factor was that even the dealer said it was a bit heavy on petrol. But the Captiva took the cake, I steped in, closed the door and I swear it was metal on metal, the level of refinement, nil and no room at all, but what really floored me...wait....$46K on the road for the MaXX model. Joke. But I have read good reviews on that car...I just dont get it.

  5. I have been trawling the internet trying to find road test data on the grande model. Wheels has tested the KX-R, but i cannot find any reviews for Grande. But what I do find is alot of territory reviews. Why???. For the price there is no other small SUV with that level of equipment (it is basically the same level as the Lexus RX but 20K cheaper). I am sick of reading about Ford Territory's. I test drove one when deciding, and they are a 4WD falcon, the base model has nothing in it and the level of refinement was no where near as good...ok I will stop my rant now....

  6. I used to love black, but always have a soft spot for white since the white Honda Integra Type R from 1999. Love white car since then.

There is too much to clean for a clean black Kluger.... it is hard enough to keep the white clean.

its a lot better to wash in sydney now we can use bloody hoses again, i got jack of filling buckets just to rinse it....every saturday id have my stepladder and a bucket, last saturday was the best clean its had since i got it using a hose.

  7. Well I've had me beast since Nov 07.

This morning I dropped my daughter and friend off at school for an early morning departure to Melb.

The 15yr olds needed light for last minute makeup and prettieness checks and the makeup mirror was already working overtime.

With the interior front cabin light I've only ever used the toggle switch either way to engage them.

Well, we found the actual lights themselves are spring loaded in there flush sockets. Press it softly and that light only will come on.

Yep, only a small thing and probably already known about by most here, but I didn't.

I really must read that manual as I only found out how the 2 sec anit rollback worked the other week.

just went and tried the cabin lights...i read the manual and didnt see it....cool

  8. I can see the pattern now that 2WD has better economy.

My advice is to stay away from Shell 95. They are RUBBISH (with capital letters).

Going to get only Caltex 95 or BP Ultimate. There is no BP 95 in the local BP. Not tried Mobil yet. Now I will do shopping at Safeway and it will help with Caltex fuels.

BTW I am around 14.5 for a 4WD Grande. That is city with 20% highway.

next fill up i am going to try BP ultimate. the V power racing is always out at the local shell. and I agreee the 95 is toilet.

  12. V power racing is no good 2 months ago. I don't even use that for my RX-8!

Try the BP Ultimate. It is going to good to the power!

filled up with V power racing 2 weeks ago and i am getting 11.5L/100kms and that is city driving around sydney....only problem was it cost $118 to fill....haven't done the maths to see if it is worthwhile...
