Hi all I want to permanent install our 7" GPS unit in the car and the best spot for it is below the climate controls where there is a spare DIN with the cigarette lighter/ashtray below. I would like to remove the ashtray cover which is one of those smooth 'slidey' types(no idea how to explain it any better ). Can anyone give advice on how to safely take the cover off and also how to remove the face plate on the spare DIN mount? At some point down the track I may want to put things back to normal, so I don't want to destroy anything !! Looking forward to hearing from someone.
