  1. Thanks, Yes must admit my brakes didnt fade just felt a little soft in general and was wondering how they would hold up around a track. I still have plenty of pad left but will get replacements before venturing out. Guess I am used to a more aggressive brake feel in my circuit car. I agree the gunmetal grey wheels are handy to hide the dust but require regular cleaning, I take mine off weekly and wash them front and back. Cheers
  2. Has anyone done any track time in their TRD? Did you upgrade your brake pads from the factory ones? Just wondering what people have used on the track as the factory pads are fairly soft to reduce disc wear and reduce noise. Drove fairly hard through the hills today and the factory pads didn't fill me with confidence so looking to upgrade before I think about any track days !
  3. Hey there, No dont work for Toyota. But my Dad did for 40 years and I've owned toyotas all my life. It was really just luck I guess. I ordered mine the week they were released. (September 07). They were released on a Tuesday and I ordered it on the Thursday night. When I ordered it the dealer looked up to see if any of my colour were currently on the production line. He said there wasn't so it would be a month or so as they were only producing them in batches. Then about a week later he rang back saying he had located one that was sitting in the factory at Melbourne unallocated. He said it took a bit of convincing to get it ordered but he eventually did it and it would save me from waiting till they produced another batch. When it arrived at the dealer he rang me up and said guess what you are never going to beleive it, you got #1. I did not beleive him until I went down there to pick it up. I'm not sure why it had been put aside at the factory and whether toyota had any plans for it, I suppose I was lucky enough to order the right colour combination at the time when there was no others on the line? Cheers.

  5. The shift lock button? Cant find reference to it in the manual and it does not seem to do anything when driving? Any ideas? http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.p...1030971.071.JPG
  6. does any one else wish that sports mode meant a proper sequential type shift ? ! in sports mode the gearbox still decides when to change up, even after you have selected the next gear. It also decides to change back down when you accelerate. A true sequential would do what you tell it to when you tell it to regardless of revs and speed. Not changing down if you are going too fast is a good saftey feature of any sequential box so that should remain. Given it is electronically controlled someone must be cluey enough to change the ECU so that when you change gear the gearbox changes instantly. Its very frustrating if you accelerate and change up to the next gear and the gearbox does nothing until you either back off a little or hit the limiter. The standard set would be crap to dive around a track, you could never short shift if the track dictated it. dont get me wrong, I am a very happy trd owner, just starting to get the modification itch and looking at what needs improvement. maybe neal bates will make a sequential gearbox !!
