  1. I'm 175cm (5'10") and my wife is 150cm (5') and have a KX-R. Neither of us have a problem with the head rest / restraint. My wife has back problems, but has found the Kluger to be fine for long and short trips. We don't even adjust the head rest when changing drivers.

  2. For my KX-R AWD 7 seater, from memory about $600 with NRMA with combined policy discount. Full replacement in first 2 years of car's life if written off. This is for Sutherland Shire in Sydney. I was always insured with AAMI and got a good rate previously, but they were going to charge about $850! :o

  3. Hi Rice,

Any idea if 5W-30 synthetic oil would be okay for the Kluger? Supercheap Auto have Castrol Edge Sport 5W-30 on sale for $29.95 for 5 litres, which is $22 off. I live it Sydney, so am not sure if it would be okay for use in summer.

    Appreciate any advice.

P.S. Will also be taking the Kluger down to the snow in winter.

    Thanks,

  4. I was in Toronto (Canada) a few weeks back and saw a couple of Highlanders and then saw one in Phoenix on the way back to Sydney. Sounds like the Shire is Kluger central. See heaps around Heathcote and Engadine, as well as a fair few older models.

  5. Hi Eugene,

Fuel economy readout will always vary most just after filling up. It normally takes about 50 - 100km before my readout stops varying when stopped at lights etc... depending on where I am driving. However, even after about 400km, I can still get a variation of my fuel economy on a 10km trip. I do notice that fuel economy goes up most when accelerating and when travelling slow. I guess the computer works out how much fuel is needed to cover 100km based on the speed you are doing (sitting still or a slow crawl) and adjusts the readout accordingly. I'm like Taka, I like to get to cruising speed as quick as possible. I average 12km with 50% of that in traffic (not much stop start though).

    Cheers,

    Snowy

  6. Hi,

I have a KX-R AWD (about 5,000 km) and my wife has a Subaru Impreza RX (1,000 km). The Subaru sounds like the motor will fall apart when it is started when cold, while the Kluger doesn't sound rough at all. Certainly haven't heard any harsh noises from the motor and mine is an ex-demo.

    Cheers,

  7. Hi All,

Just signed this afternoon for my Ex Demo (4,000km) Silver 2008 KX-R AWD 7 seater. :D $43,500 drive away (with $3,500 trade-in on'98 Camry) with tinted windows and carpet mats. Just missed a 2007 KX-S AWD with 17,000km for $39,990 (by an hour) last weekend.

    Cheers,

  8. Hi Guys,

Have any of you changed the head unit yet? Do the steering wheel audio controls still work? I'm thinking of getting a KX-R and upgrading the stereo.

    Cheers,

  9. Hi All,

Am new to the forum. I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand Kluger. I can afford to buy either a KX-R AWD 7 seater or a KX-S FWD. Apart from the odd trip to the snow, most driving will be a combination of city and highway driving + a little bit of towing, nothing huge or too heavy.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Snowy68
