Nealo, can you explain how you turned the beep's off?
I just asked for it at a service and they did it.
-
I think it'd be possible but probably not advisable.
I got the beep's for locking and unlocking turned off.
-
I have them (just the two) and like them.

Interesting thread here most notably the bit below.
3) the car come with dark color window, but the dealer told me they don't know how much UV protection it come with, and they don't know how to find the info.If they made a simple call to the technical people at head office would have told them this..... but, it wouldn't have made them $$ telling you this information as I said, they can't make their money selling your "clear" tint. Like wearing clothes made of invisible cotton and people would pay for it...

Don't think I'd be happy getting a new Grande and getting the same alloy's as the "special edition" of the previous model.
-
The only time there is a .5l difference is when you switch to the AWD Grande model.
So tell me how this is so?
All 2WD models weigh 2630kg.
All AWD models weigh 2720kg
All models have the same engine.
Yet only the Grande AWD is stated to use 0.6l/100km more?
-
There is no difference in the fuel economy between the 2wd and the AWD. I would go for the 2wd if it suits your budget better.
Yes there is. It's about 0.5l/100km.

No KX-R 7 seater?

Was waiting and waiting for Bridgestones to come on.
Got sick of waiting and booked the car in for Pirelli's.
Got there today and he informs me Pirelli are out of stock for this size. "Don't worry I've got some Yokohama's in to put on for you". I'm no tyre snob so I just asked to have a look first. I immediately said no. He then talked me into letting him fit them and if I don't like them he'll take them back.
There is/was a definite roar between 50-70kph. I now have to go back tomorrow and get my old Dunlops back on and wait.

The Russian media pack for the Highlander - http://highlander.toyota.ru/media/Highlander.pdf - shows a split 3rd row for the top of the range model, USB plug in the lower centre console (near the heated seat switch), hard drive in sound system, rear fog light, and wait for it...slightly different cup holders in the front!! Also, some different colours too...
I replaced my lighter outlet with one of these from Repco for $15.

looks very stylish.. cosmetically it looks like a brand new model more than a facelift!
really?! - change the grille and lights and that's a "new model"?! it looks EXACTLY like my current one inside...disappointing. Where's the memory seat for the driver? new trim to replace the plastic 'wood'? new wheel designs?
I agree but I wouldn't give up on the wheel designs. The Toyota dealer I contacted read out the list of changes and wheel design was one of them.
-
I just tried it and the easiest way was it pop out the middle clear bit (the bit between the push buttons)with a small screwdriver and then you can put your finger behind the push button ones and pop them out.
-
The push button ones?
I've changed mine to LED but can't remember how?
I think a thin small screwdriver on the side closet to a door and pop it down. (I think).
I'll get back to you if I work it out.
-
I like fog lights but not the profile of the headlights.
What's with the ugly growth on them?
-
So if you optioned 19's when buying a KXR would Toyota fit a different tyre placard?
And if they do why can't you do it after you purchase it?
-
Just clocked up 40,000kms and need some new rubber.
I'd like to put on Yokohama Advan ST V802 but it only comes in 255 60 R17 where the Kluger currently comes with 245 65 R17. A few places have told me the diameter shouldn't change by more than 12mm. If I went to the Yokies it's about a12mm difference.
Anyone gone to something different then the Dunlops? I've had prices of $330-$400 per tyre for the Dunlops.

Hi can anyone tell me if this unit will fit into my KX-R?
I'm thinking yes and it has me very tempted.

The iphone's bluetooth is limited to connecting to hands free units only. Probably the worst feature of the iphone is its limited bluetooth capabilities. (You can't, for example, send a file to your computer or someone else via bluetooth). However, it works great with the bluetooth hands-free in the Grande.
That's incorrect.
I play my music from my 3GS via bluetooth in both my Fiesta Zetec and my Kluger.
The Fiesta via the stereo that came in it but the Kluger is through a replacement unit.
This is the unit I put in the Kluger. It was only cheap but couldn't afford anything more at the time.
-
Guys, this is your best source of information for the updated Kluger;
http://www.toyota.com/highlander/
Pretty hard to see the difference!
If they are the sum total of the changes then I couldnt see any advantage in waiting. In my opinion the tail lights take it back 4 years and the Rav4 type grille.
The grille and tail lights you refer to are from the Hybrid (Limited) model.
The tail lights are LED.
I can't tell the difference in the bumpers.
The third row is still one piece, not 50/50 split.
The side front indicators are no longer on the fenders.
The side mirrors now have "puddle" lights standard, not indicators.
Yeah I don't think that's the updated model.
The side indicators were never on the fenders in the US model. I think that's part of our ADR's.

Does anyone know how much these are? Anyone?

UPDATE ON FAULTY - Pay per view - Kluger GPS / DVD system
Hi Guys,
Well I am not happy at all as I sent the unit back to China weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing. I've emailed them several times and I get absolutely no response, so I have a nice 2008 KLUGER with a huge hole in the centre dash.
Definitely do not buy the unit from Ebay under seller "pay-per-view". They did have a bit of negative feedback and I overlooked it because they sell a lot of stuff, but hopefully this will help my fellow Kluger owners from making the same mistake that I did. $650 GONE........ Now i need another one......to fill in the hole. I'm interested in the FLY unit but not willing to pay more than about $900.
Paul.
What ended up happening Paul?
Also to George and others, how much is the FlyAduio version? I've PM'ed George and also sent an email to EasyPark but no response.

After 21 months and 36000kms my total average is 11.47l/100km
Curious as to how you know your total average economy over 36,000km ... my dealer resets the display every 10k service? Is your calculation manual or from the display?
I've got this iPhone App that I use everytime I fill up. You can reports by any period you put in, for instance so far this year my average is 11.29l/100km. It's a great App if you have an iPhone. There is a Lite version if anyone wants to trial it.
2012 Kluger special edition or Altitude
in Kluger
Posted
I've got a 2008 KXR that I'm wanting to upgrade.
Anyone heard any rumors about the return of the Altitude or another special edition?
I believe the last one was around March of 2009? With this current shape being around a while I thought a special edition might be coming up.
