Thanks for that. I found the problem, I'd knocked the vacuum hose off the vaccuum sensor. Reconnected it and all is running fine. Blinkers still don't work but the same thing happened with them a couple of weeks ago after disconnecting the battery and they came back after a couple of days...Wierd!

My 93 Corolla has started idling too rich. The idle is 'bouncing' between 300 and 800 rpm and blowing smoke. Occasionally on idle the tacho seems to give a 'twitch'. On acceleration from a stand still I get large amounts of smoke. Driving is smooth when accelerating but jumping/jerking when holding low speeds. I did an ECU reset and nothing changed except the blinkers stopped working. Any ideas would be great.

I was kind of thinking that because the hazards were working that the flasher unbit must be OK. As it turns out, when I started the car this moring the indicators were working! YEAH. Thanks for your help.

Whilst I can agree in there being no such thing as cheap horsepower at the end of the day we don't all have the big bucks so I think it a fair exercise the investigate cheap mods that can add some small gain..after all, lots of small gains add up. The claim in the ad that it adds 20hp is bogus though. I have done this mod on my car (I went for the 0.20c option from ***** Smith). It definitely added some responsiveness and noticeable power increase but I would guess somewhere closer to 2-5 hp. I've had it running now for 18months with no adverse side affects or dramatically increased fuel consumption. I must try the garlic sauce though LOL.

Can anyone offer any suggestions.... Following some minor modifications to unrelated electricals my indicators aren't working. The hazards work so it's not the bulbs or the flasher unit (unless there's a seperate flasher unit for the hazards) and the fuses are OK. I'm leaning towards the indicator stalk being faulty but it's a bit too much of a coincidence that that would happen after I've been stuffing around with some electrical modifications (fitting accessory switches and lights). Unfortunately I don't have time to rip into troubleshooting until my next day off but I have to drive the car in the mean time so I was hoping someone might be able to offer up a suggestion as to what it might be.
