first oil change

Hi all,

First my family is really stoked with the kluger

Had my bad Kluger in for the first service ( 3 month ) 1,920 km,s No oil change till 6mths or 10,000 km,s , now the cars has 5000 kms 4 mths old ,checked the the oil level today, full but the colour of the oil gone from clear to black , so I changed it , quick flush ( Havoline Premium Plus 10W-30 ) I noticed the old oil was as thin as water (thinner viscosity)

does anyone know / comfirm what the factory oil is ,, could not be Synthetic for running in , the manual says its 10w -30 mineral but did not feel or look like it when poured from one drum to another.

I was under the impression that the oil filter design on the sweet 3.5 engine increased the life of the oil , it does not appear to do so , as with all my cars in the past ,DIY oil / filter change every 6ths they do around 5000km,s per 6ths and always use 10w -30 so i know whats it feels / looks like .

I didnot have a oil filter kit (element o rings )on hand today , which now i will have to do it again thats why i said flushed the oil with new oil , has anybody changed the oil filter

(any special tools needed) any tips !

Pretty sure you need a special service tool for the oil filter pete, although I haven't looked at mine to verify this!

Pete read this thread, all you need to know, inc oil changes and list of most stuff you need + detail on oil condition and type I use ;) hope you find it entertaining and useful too :)
